Abstract:The article presented here reflects on rights of nonhuman animals face the academic culture of scientific experimentation. Therefore, initially performs a historical animal experiments showing that since the nineteenth century nonhuman animals are used for scientific research. Subsequently, the search exhibit abolition theories and utilitarian, showing the predominance of the latter with the use of non-human guinea pigs in laboratories. Finally, the work relates utilitarianism desensitization and the formation of human speciesism. It was adopted as the research method and deductive method as the procedure monograph.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
