Abstract. The surfacing process with the use of external mechanical vibrations of low frequency has been presented as a periodic one. In its first semiperiod, a drop is formed, and in the second one, a short circuit of the arc gap takes place. The developed mathematical model of the process allows for a change of the arc gap length in a set periodic law. Analytically, the dependencies of the force of current on the arc gap length and the density of current on the arc bridge length are determined. Keywords: periodic influence, surfacing, distribution of current, length of arc interval, length of bridge.
