This research explains that since Indonesia's establishment, Pesantren has demonstrated its ability to adapt to changing educational models as the embryo of the education model. During the transition of the educational model, this institution served as a grass-roots institution that provided basic education to people at all levels. Pesantren is competitive in assuring the development of a model of the education system that competes with the numerous models offered by other modern educational institutions. The Pesantren transformation model was examined using qualitative analysis in this study. Concrete data demonstrates that Pesantren as an Islamic institution has matured, with a wide range of options that contribute to the creation of pesantren's basic values as the spirit and culture of Indonesia. The result revealed that Pesantren, an Islamic educational institution, was developed and capable of competing in the face of education transformation needs.
Abstract This study aims to test the level of effectiveness of prodigy theory through a classroom management-based learning approach to increase students' self-potential in learning, using descriptive quantitative research methods in the form of experiments with Non-Equivalent Group Pretest-Postest Control Group research designs. With the number of research subjects, 48 students were divided into experimental and control groups. The results of the Paired Samples T-test showed that the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group and the control group with a significance level of p<0.01, then Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected, while the results of the one-way ANOVA test showed a value of F=5033,639; with a significance level of p<0.01. While the results of the post hoc test explained that the experimental group and the control group had a significant average difference with a significance level of 0.647>0.50, indicating a significant increase in the average between the experimental group and the control group. So it can be concluded that the application of prodigy theory through a classroom management-based learning approach is effective in increasing students' self-potential in learning. The results of this study are expected to be a reference so that it can be carried out and continued in a wider scope.
Implementing the online learning process requires qualified EFL teachers as agents of change to get hold of effective learning resources to help students achieve learning goals. This pilot study explores EFL students’ perceptions from two private Islamic senior high schools in urban areas in Aceh Province, Indonesia, towards using video clips with subtitles (bimodal of English-Indonesian) while learning English in the classroom. The study applied the mixed-methods design by disseminating a questionnaire to 78 participants and conducting a semi-structured interview with ten selected participants. Findings revealed that most students positively perceived using subtitled video clips in learning English vocabulary. However, some encountered setbacks in learning English words due to the poor use of the elements in the video clip subtitles. Therefore, the subtitling procedures still need revisiting to assist students better in digesting subtitled movies in a more well-organized manner.
