This research is motivated by using instructional media that is less appropriate in social study learning. The purpose of this study was to develop an Android-based educational learning media in social study learning for elementary school students. This research is development research using four D model. The results of this study show that the development of Android-based educational learning media for elementary students is valid, practical and effective. The implication of this research is it can be used as a reference for teachers and education practitioners in using learning media for elementary school students.
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah yang selama ini dipelajari dalam pembelajaran IPS masih cenderung bersifat ekspositoris dan berpusat pada guru, kurang melibatkan siswa dalam belajar, sering memberikan hafalan. Penilaian yang selalu dalam bentuk kognitif dan kurang memberi peluang pada siswa untuk digabungkan dengan untuk memecahkan masalah pada penelitian. Untuk itu peneliti mencoba memperbaiki pembelajaran IPS dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Clasroom Action Research), penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan 2 siklus oleh kolaboratif antara peneliti dan guru kelas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa meningkat dari 66 pada siklus I menjadi 84 pada siklus II. Kompilasi RPP meningkat dari 71 pada siklus I menjadi 89 pada siklus II. Hasil belajar siswa juga meningkat dari 65 dan 71 pada siklus I menjadi 77 dan 94 pada siklus II. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas VI SDN 02 Percontohan Kota Bukittinggi
