As Indonesian government endorse of growing creative economy, it also relates to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which is growing rapidly in Indonesia. The ICT is used by many people in rural area, especially at coastal area. At coastal area most women work for helping the family income. They produce the fish production. Thus it leads to their creativity in producing new product from fish. This creativity should be enforce by utilizing the ICT in particular for enlarging the market. The case from women in Indramayu District specifically in Indramayu sub-district, a coastal area, becomes locus for this research. This paper examines how women at coastal area produce the fish production becoming a creative economy and how they use the internet? The qualitative research is applied in this research. The result show that most women do not really use the internet, only a few of them utilize the internet to market their product by using social media. In conclusion, ICT cannot be applied maximally in Indramayu except the women are obtaining the media literacy.
The use of communication media, especially mobile phones is unfortunately not felt right. It sees a lot of users who do not 'unethical' when using mobile phones; for example many children of school age or adolescent even adults use phone while driving a motorcycle or a car. Another case is the misused of mobile phones such as pornographic video recording made by one of the school students in the city of Bengkulu. The video then uploaded to the internet media like youtube.com. It looks like the users of communication media is not or should not even understand how to communicate well using the media. The rise of the 'sights' of this makes the basis for the holding of this service activity. The activity goal is to provide knowledge to students with regard to communication media, helping students to develop a critical understanding and adequate information about the use of good communication media, providing knowledge to students on how good ethics in the use of communication media, especially mobile phones and equip students early capable of communicating with both to make use of existing media, especially mobile phones. The target audience of the communication media education activities is students of SMP 1 and SMP 11, and SMP 7 representing students in the city of Bengkulu with the number of attending students in this event each grade level were 10 people representing his friends. The activities are lectures, discussion, and simulation of media education with the ultimate goal of improved understanding of the students in the use communication media, especially mobile phones. The result shows that many of students have new knowledge about the ethics of phone using.
In addressing the problem of poverty, the media also has a very important role. In addition, with media, especially the internet, we can find out information about the weather and the sea and fishing information globally accessible. Further explained that the resources of this example is FIGIS (fisheries global information system) that provides a range of statistical information such as fisheries, fish distribution maps by species, issue and topic of the actual fisheries, aquaculture, marine fisheries, and fishing technology. The data is available anytime and anywhere needed. Based on the background is exactly the service activities based on this urgent research to be conducted. The activity goal is to provide knowledge for women and families of fishermen on the media, especially the Internet and equip the women and families of fishermen to learn new media like the internet. The target audience of the utilization of the internet is for girls and coastal fishing families who live in the city of Bengkulu Malabero coastal areas totaling 10 people who have a product that can be sold in the market. The activities are lectures, discussions and simulations use the internet with the ultimate goal the establishment of a blog that can be used to sell their products.
