Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar IPA yang terintegrasi nilai Islam, mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan sikap dan prestasi belajar IPA. Sikap terdiri dari sikap religi dan sikap positif terhadap IPA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) yang dikembangkan oleh Borg & Gall. Teknik analisis data menggunakan gain score, independent t test, dan uji MANOVA. Bahan ajar dalam bentuk buku siswa MTs dan buku guru MTs. Penilaian produk buku siswa MTs menurut ahli materi dan ahli media berkategori “sangat baik”. Buku guru MTs menurut ahli materi berkategori “baik” dan menurut ahli media berkategori “sangat baik”. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan buku siswa MTs menunjukkan sikap religi meningkat tinggi (rerata gain score adalah 0,70), sikap positif terhadap IPA meningkat sedang (rerata gain score adalah 0,57), dan prestasi belajar IPA meningkat sedang (rerata gain score adalah 0,55).Kata Kunci: bahan ajar, buku siswa MTs, buku guru MTs, sikap, prestasi belajar Developing of Instructional Materials for Science Integrated with Islamic Values for Increasing Attitudes and Science Learning Achievement AbstractThe aims of the research was to develop instructional materials for science integrated with Islamic values, to determine the appropriateness and the effectiveness of the developed product for increasing attitudes and science learning achievement. Attitudes is consist of religious attitudes and positive attitudes toward science. This research is Research and Development (R & D) using Borg & Gall model. Data analysis techniques using gain score, independent t-test, and MANOVA test. Instructional materials in the form of MTs student books and MTs teacher books. Product assessment of the MTs student books according to matter experts and media experts are categorized “very well”. The MTs teacher books according to matter experts are categorized “good”, and according to media experts is categorized “very well”. Learning to use student books showed that religious attitudes have risen high (the mean gain score is 0.70), positive attitudes towards science have risen middle (the mean gain score is 0.57), and science learning achievement have risen middle (the mean gain score is 0.55).Keywords: instructional material, MTs student books, MTs teacher books, attitudes, science learning achievement
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Perangkat Pembelajaran Biologi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Tempat dan sampel penelitian dipilih secara purposive random sampling. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dan diteliti meliputi Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), modul dan instrumen penilaian. Perangkat Pembelajaran tersebut dikembangkan berdasarkan indikator berpikir kritis menurut Facione yang terdiri dari enam aspek, yaitu: interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, kesimpulan, penjelasan dan pengaturan diri. Instrumen yang dikembangkan, yaitu RPP, modul dan instrumen penilaian berupa tes telah diuji validitasnya dengan menggunakan formula Aiken V dengan indeks validitas secara berturut-turut sebesar 0,93, 0,92, dan 0,90. Adapun estimasi reliabilitas instrumen tersebut adalah 0,66, 0,69 dan 0,74. Hasil Uji efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran menggunakanT-test dan diperoleh p-value 0,00 (p<0,05) dengan score gap antara pre test dan post test sebesar 31,93%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran guru kelas XI pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata kunci: efektivitas, perangkat pembelajaran, kemampuan berpikir kritis THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INQUIRY BASED LEARNING TOOLS FOR IMPROVING STUDENTS CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AbstractThe research aims to determine the effectiveness of Biology learning device to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research sites and samples were chosen by purposive random sampling. The learning device developed and researched included the lesson plan (RPP), module and assessment instrument. The learning device was developed based on Facione's critical thinking indicator consisting of six aspects, including: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, conclusion, explanation, and self-regulation. The developed instruments, namely the lesson plan, module, and assessment instrument in the form of test had been tested for validity by using Aiken V formula with the validity index of 0.93, 0.92, and 0.90 respectively. The instrument reliability estimation is 0.66, 0.69. and 0.74. The effectiveness of the learning device was tested using T-test andit obtains the p-value of 0.00 (p <0.05) with score gap between pre test and post test at 31.93%, so it can be concluded that the class XI teacher's learning tools on human excretion system material is effective to improve the students' critical thinking skill.
Background relation between breast-feeding duration and children's nutritional status is still a controversy. Positive as well as negative relation were shown. This study aimed to support this current issue on breast feeding duration and nutritional status of children aged 12-24 months. Objective To analyze relationship between breast-feeding duration and nutritional status of children aged 12-24 months. Methods A cross sectional study was conducted with 246 proportional stratified random coupled samples (mothers and weaned children) with inclusion criteria: normal birth weight, fullterm delivery and no physical and psychological problems. Data from children were measured using Seca® digital weight scale, wooden length board, while data from mothers were collected through 1x24 Hours Food Recall Form, and a questionnaire on mother's knowledge. Results The average of breast-feeding duration was 15 months. The prevalence of malnutrition was quite low (<10%), but the prevalence of stunting was high enough (20.7%) while wasting was moderately high (10.6%). Breast-feeding duration was significantly associated to children's nutritional status (height-for-age index and weight-for-height index). The highest correlation was found in height-for-age index (r = 0.403). Regression model revealed that breast-feeding duration, exclusive breast-feeding, diarrhea, working mother, mother's knowledge, energy intake, and protein intake were independently associated with children's nutritional status. Conclusions As this study found that the average of breast-feeding duration was 15 months and there was a significant association between breast-feeding duration and nutritional status (heightfor-age index) of children 12-24 months old, thus these findings strengthen the recommendation of WHO to continue breast feeding up to 2 years old.
