This study was aimed to determine the effect of protected soybean groats-Lemuru fish oil in the diet on performance of males Simental Ongole Crossbred. The materials used in this study were 9 heads of males Simental Ongole Crossbred cattle with an average initial weight of 467.55 ± 30.89 kg. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were P0 = 30% rice straw fermentation + 70% basal concentrate; P1 = 30% rice straw fermentation + 55% basal concentrate + 15% ogf unprotected soybean groats-lemuru fish oil, and P2 = P1 = 30% rice straw fermentation + 55% basal concentrate + 15% of protected soybean groats-lemuru fish oil. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the use of protected soybean groats-lemuru fish oil in the diet did not affect the initial body weight, final body weight, average daily gain, FCR and FER. Additionally, the treatment significantly affected dry matter intake and the income of the feedlot has increased. Conclusions of this study was the use of 15% protected soybean groats-lemuru fish oil in the diet increased production performance and income of male simental Ongole Crossbred feedlot.

Increasing the Productivity of Kampong Chicken in the Putra Budi SME’s Mojolaban District Sukoharjo Regency. Putra Budi Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) located in Bekonang Village, Mojolaban Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency, is a business unit owned by Mr Apri with traditional kampong chicken breeding with a capacity of 50-100 chickens/period. Mr Apri. Putra Budi SMEs is engaged in traditional village chicken farming with a capacity of 50-100 chickens/period. Mr Apri started this business 5 years ago, but the maintenance method is still simple and has not been carried out intensively so that the productivity is low. Chicken sales are carried out on a wholesale basis, causing lower prices. Providing feed that does not meet the standard needs of livestock. The main problem faced by Putra Budi SME’s lies in the management of native chicken maintenance which includes management of feed, cages, sanitation, selection of broodstock, and hatching which are carried out traditionally (extensively). This service aims to increase the business of native chicken cultivation by implementing intensive cultivation, diversifying the marketing pattern of native chickens, and being able to increase partner income. Some of the solutions offered are to provide broader knowledge about the management of domestic chicken rearing which is still extensive/traditional towards programmed intensive management. The result of this service activity is that SME’s can apply feed management by selecting feed raw materials around the location and the practice of compiling quality native chicken rations, broiler-type chicken maintenance systems that are free from dangerous diseases/viruses, increasing productivity, efficiency, and speed of return on investment, and can establish cooperation with restaurants or SMEs processing native chicken. Based on the economic analysis carried out, the maintenance of the Putra Budi village chickens with 200 chickens experienced a 5% depletion and earned a profit of IDR 1,400,000 per breeding period.

This study aimed to determine the effect of rice bran (DP) and industrial waste beer or beer dregs (AB) with different ratios on TDN local sheep ration and to know the optimal level of provision. Sheep were used in this study were male local sheep weighing 15 kg ± 1.5 kg as much as 12 heads. Treatment ration consists of forage and concentrates with a ratio of 60%: 40% (in DM) in the form of grass king, DP and AB. The design used in this study is a Completely Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with three treatments and four replications. Treatment applied is P1 = 60% Grass King + 29% DP + 9% AB + 2% Premix, P2 = 60% Grass King + 19% DP + 19% AB + 2% Premix, P3 = 60% Grass King + 9 % DP + 29% AB + 2% Premix. Variables measured are nutrients (crude protein = PK, extract ether = LK, crude fiber = SK and Nitrogen free extract = BETN) can be digested. The results showed that PKdd and LKdd strongly influenced (P <0.01) by the ratio of DP and AB. The use of DP and AB ratio of 19%: 19% and 9% DP AB : 29% highly significant to increase PKdd and LKdd (PK ss: 6.71 vs 7.64; 8.12 and the LKdd: 4:07 vs 4:27; 4:36). While carbohydrates are composed of SKdd and BETNdd did not influenced by differences in the ratio of DP and AB. The use of rice bran and the dregs of beer at local male sheep give the best TDN value at the level of 19% and 19% rice bran and industrial waste beer or beer dregs.

Feeding high-concentrateration stimulates the protozoa to grow quickly, thus inhibits the growth of rumen bacteria, and leads to decrease in digestibility of nutrients, especially crude fiber. Defaunation is required to reduce the protozoa population in the rumen, for exampleby using China rose (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) leafwhich containing saponins. This study investigated the effectiveness of China rose leaf as defaunation agent in high-concentrate feed with different forage based on nutrient digestibility in kacang goats. A total of16 male kacang goats with average body weight of 13.68 ± 1.55 kg was divided into 2 treatments i.e. P1: 40% peanut straw + 50% concentrate + 10% China roseleaf and P2: 40% king grass + 50% concentrate + 10% China rose leaf. The data obtained were analyzed by t-test. The results showed that the goats fed peanut straw generated higher (P<0.05) dry matter intake than the goats fed king grass (819.56 vs 678.65 gram/head/day). Furthermore, the dry matter digestibility in goats fed peanut straw was higher (P<0.01) than king grass (81.93 vs71.64%). The same results were observed for the digestibility of organic matter (82.96 vs74.35%) and crude fiber(78.12 vs 64.00%). It can be concluded that the use of China roseleaf in ration containing peanut strawwas more effective as defaunation agent as indicated by higher nutrient digestibility rather than in ration containing king grass.
