El Six Sigma inicialmente inventado como un indicador para medir defectos y mejorar la calidad fue implementado por Motorola en el año 1986, posteriormente evolucionó para convertirse en una metodología que alinea los procesos de una empresa según los requerimientos de los clientes. La implementación de esta metodología, como una filosofía gerencial, permite alcanzar mejores niveles de productividad y competitividad empresarial, la cual está basada en la desviación estándar; siendo su fin reducir la variabilidad y/o defectos en los productos y servicios a un nivel de 3,4 defectos por millón de oportunidades. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo el analizar la importancia del Six Sigma en el sector empresarial textil. El estudio corresponde a un enfoque cualitativo, diseño sistemático, cuya técnica fue el análisis documental. Entre sus principales conclusiones se tuvo que: El Six Sigma proporciona a las empresas una herramienta orientada a mejorar la capacidad de sus procesos, aumentando el rendimiento y disminuyendo la variación, con el propósito de reducir los defectos y aumentar la calidad del producto.
Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar teóricamente a los actores involucrados en ciencia, tecnología e innovación (CTI) y las orientaciones para su integración en Latinoamérica. La metodología consistió en la revisión de literatura especializada de pensadores latinoamericanos para identificar perspectivas sobre las prácticas e intereses de los actores de CTI. Los resultados expresan que tanto en el pasado siglo como en el presente los actores y sus prácticas en área de la CTI han estado influenciadas por condiciones políticas, económicas y sociales respecto a países centrales, así como los gobiernos se mantienen como actores fundamentales en la integración de otros sujetos para el impulso de la innovación. Se concluye que si bien, han existido distintos modelos propuestos por el pensamiento latinoamericano de CTI con el fin de integrar las prácticas de estos actores, prevalece la noción de sistema a través de las propuestas internacionales conocidas como Sistemas Nacionales de Innovación y Sistemas Regionales de Innovación.

To guarantee correct management, it is necessary to know the benefits of this type of management, and how the organization can adapt and incorporate it into its processes. In conclusion, purchasing management as a strategy applied to the production chain process allows promoting organizational competitiveness.
