Wound care by using wound dressing has been evolved available in various physical forms including hydrogels with the highest global use reaching 43%. Nowadays, hydrogels are available at high cost because produced from synthetic materials, so natural materials are needed to obtain antibacterial wound dressing. This study aims to analyze the hydrogel patch PVA/chitosan/starch infused liquid smoke and vitamin K collard greens extract which are antibacterial effects and accelerates wound healing. This study was a laboratory experiment. Collard greens were extracted by using the Direct Solvent Extraction II method. The membrane characteristic tested using SEM test. The parallel streak method (AATCC 147-2004) was used for antibacterial testing. The hydrogel patch application was carried out on 28 male Rattus norvegicus strain wistar rats. They were given incisions wound and treated by a control group and 3 treatment groups and conducted wound healing analysis on the 4th,7th,11th and 14th day observation. The antibacterial test showed the hydrogel patch infused liquid smoke with a concentration of 12% was the optimum concentration inhibiting S. aureus. In conclusion, the hydrogel patch has a smooth and porous surface, can be inhibited the growth of S. aureus, and proven to completely heal the animal wound.
Latar belakang: Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan faktor risiko penyakit kardiovaskuler, yang menjadi penyebab utama kematian di dunia. Yoghurt merupakan susu yang difermentasi bakteri asam laktat (BAL) dan telah terbukti dapat menurunkan kolesterol. Penambahan prebiotik, seperti inulin dapat menunjang efek penurunan kolesterol pada yoghurt. Gembili (Dioscorea esculenta) merupakan bahan makanan tinggi inulin. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian yoghurt sinbiotik tanpa lemak dengan penambahan tepung gembili terhadap penurunan kolesterol total pada tikus hiperkolesterolemia.Metode: Penelitian eksperimental murni dengan pre-post test yang diterapkan pada 24 tikus Wistar jantan terinduksi hiperkolesterolemia yang dikelompokkan menggunakan sistem acak sederhana menjadi 1 kelompok kontrol dan 3 kelompok intervensi. Subjek diberikan yoghurt sinbiotik tanpa lemak dengan penambahan tepung gembili sebanyak 2 ml, 3 ml, dan 4 ml selama 14 hari. Kadar kolesterol total ditentukan melalui metode CHOD-PAP.Hasil: Kelompok P1 menunjukkan penurunan kadar kolesterol total 11,28% (p=0.077), kelompok P2 mengalami penurunan kadarkolesterol total 12,16% (p=0.102), dan kelompok P3 mengalami penurunan kolesterol total 17,89% (p=0.002). Simpulan: Pemberian dosis yoghurt sinbiotik tanpa lemak dengan penambahan tepung gembili dengan dosis 4 ml/hari dalam waktu 2 minggu dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol total darah tikus hiperkolesterolemia secara signifikan (p<0.05).
