Synthesis of NS1 and NS2 peptide fragment of hepatitis C virus polyprotein was carried out on a terpolymer- polystyrene, N-vinylpyrrolidone, 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate resin (PS-NVP-HDDA). The radical aqueous suspension polymerisation resulted in the resin, that exhibited high swelling capacity in various solvents. The peptides were synthesized step-wise by Fmoc strategy, established with amino acid analysis and purified using HPLC. The polymer's high degree of swelling might facilitate free reagent interaction with resin-bound functional sites, resulting in an increased rate of amide bond production. The peptides yield and purity obtained from new support was high when compared to Merrifield resin. These peptides synthesis depicts the application of PS-NVP-HDDA resin developed for synthesis of long chain peptides in high homogeneity and high yield.
Substrates made of steel used in coastal applications are regularly exposed to harsh salty environments;
as a result, it is essential to adopt reliable strategies for preventing corrosion. Utilization of aluminum
rich sacrificial anodes is an efficient anticorrosive technique owing to its high columbic amplitude,
low density, inherent negative potential and galvanic economy. In this work, the electrochemical and
micro-structural was characterized by catalytic effect of MnO2-Ni on anode activation. MnO2-Ni present
in anode matrix results in destroyed passive alumina film and facilitates the galvanic growth on an
anode. The anode exhibited active operating potential and high columbic efficiency during prolonged
marine exposure studies. High anodic efficacy was performed by fine tuning composites into the
metal matrix Al based alloy. The results revealed that the preferential dissolution of intermetallic
particles induced effective sacrificial anode action.
This is a report of the studies conducted on the synthesis, spectral, biological viz. antibacterial and antitumorous activities of some Copper complexes synthesized from a multidentate thiosemicarbazone ligand, HL2. This is based on a reaction between a secondary amine viz.N-phenyl piperazine and an N-substituted heterocyclic ketone viz. 2-Benzoylpyridine. The ligand exhibits a multidentate mode of coordination through N,N,S donor atoms in the copper complexes. The electron paramagnetic Resonance studies of the complexes(solution spectra) at LNT in DMF shows typical axial spectra with distinct g-values, gǁ& g┴indicating a slightly distorted four coordinated planar geometry. The biological studies viz. antibacterial and antitumorous studies suggest their use as competent antibacterial and antitumor agents.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
