Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) 5cPs, an aqueous soluble polymer was employed for coating diclofenac sodium (DFS) tablets 25 mg for protecting the integrity of the drug yet rendering the drug to release at a faster rate on contact with the gastric environment. Proper optimization for the aqueous based film coating formulation was undertaken primarily employing plasticizers like polyethylene glycol (PEG) 400 and propylene glycol (PG). The defect free selected formulations were further subjected for studying the effects of surfactants like sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) and Tween-80 along with the plasticizers. The quality of the aqueous film coats or the plasticizer efficiency in case of PEG-400 is in the order 1.5 > 0.5 > 1.0% and for PG 1 > 4 > 3% which can be stated on the basis of less incidence of major coat defects like chipping, cracking, orange peel, roughness, blistering, blooming, picking. The quality of aqueous film coat or the surfactant efficiency in case of SLS + PEG-400 is in the order 0.3 < 0.5 < 0.1% and SLS + PG is in the order 0.5 < 0.1 < 0.3%. In case of Tween-80 + PEG-400 the order is 0.3 < 0.5 < 0.1% and Tween-80 + PG is in the order 0.3 < 0.1 < 0.5%. Elegant film formation can be stated from fewer incidences of coat defects. The obtained coated tablets eventually satisfied all the normal physical parameters like thickness, weights, and weight gain, drug content, crushing strength, percent friability, disintegration time, dissolution profile and possible drug-polymer interactions. ANOVA was undertaken followed by Dunnet multiple comparison for the dissolution profile considering uncoated as the standard. The difference was considered significant at p ⩽ 0.01.
The most comfortable and choicely path of drug administration is oral route. Orodispersible tablets bring a revolution among all routes of drug administration as well as oral route of drug administration also. Orodispersible tablets are unit dosage form but it has unique characteristics. It disintegrates in the mouth within a minute for the presence of saliva where the presence of super disintegrates in the preparation. Especially, old and child have no chance to swallow as a result it is very acceptable for them. Migraine is a very well-known irritating condition for adult and female. Migraine is a debilitating and common neurovascular illness associated with symptoms of one-sided headache, nausea with or without vomiting, photophobia and/or phonophobia. But these symptoms are subjective and vary from patient to patient. Orodispersible tablets are most important solution of migraine like emergency condition and helping human by transferring from hell to heaven. Very short half-life, quick disintegration, quick onset of action and better bioavailability brings the orodispersible tablets into the top position of the management of migraine. Sumatriptan, zolmitriptan like drugs are helping their hands to reduce migraine. Lastly, there are lots of drugs are investigating for this purpose and our hope that the orodispersible tablet can give the pioneer and will give the migraine free era to us and our futures. Objectives: Sheep butter has been traditionally used in the local villages of upper Himalayan region for its various dermatological benefits. In the current study, sheep butter cream was formulated and evaluated for its wound healing properties for the purpose of scientific validation, standardization, safety, efficacy evaluation. Methods: Nine formulations were developed with varying concentrations of ingredients and evaluated for different parameters. Optimized formulations showing neutral pH, good homogeneity and texture, viscosity, spreadability, consistency and antibacterial activity were selected for evaluation of wound healing property in excision wound model and were compared to standard marketed product. Results: From the results obtained, it was observed that formulated creams enabled easy application and removal from the skin without any evidence of irritation, erythema or leftover residue. Amongst all formulations, F-11, F-12 and F-13 showed the most satisfactory properties and were studied in details. Formulations F-12 and F-13 containing 7.5 g and 10g sheep butter respectively were chosen for evaluation of wound healing activity in excision wound model in albino rats. It was noted that on the 15 th post-wounding day, F-12 and F-13 showed 94.4±0.3% and 96.9±0.6% wound contraction respectively, which were found to be significantly higher when compared with the wound contraction of control group (79.3±7.5%) and was comparable with the standard group. Conclusion: Thus sheep butter appears to be effective agent in the management of wound healing activities.
There are lots of herbal plants are using for various treatment, food remedy etc from the prehistoric time. India has taken a great part to garage lots of herbal plants. 3-12 years lifespan containing and cool climate growing Medicago sativa is one of them good rank holder herbal plant. After studying the chemical constituents of M. sativa, it contains vitamin C, vitamin K, genistein which have great wound healing activity as well as it can cure kidney pain, cough, sore muscle, asthma etc. But it cannot take those people who are suffering breast cancer, ovarian cancer etc. At last, after overall study, Medicago sativa has great reflection on human and animals. Keywords: Medicago sativa, wound healing, vitamin C, vitamin K, genistein, food remedy.
