From Mutisia acuminata var. hirsuta Meyen (Asteraceae) three known compounds, quercetin-3-glucuronide, L-inositol, and arbutin, and three new phenolic compounds, 2-hydroxy-5-methylchromone-2-D-glucopyranoside, 11, 12-dihydroxy-5-methylcoumestan, and 2',4':4,5-furocoumarin, were isolated. The compound 11,12dihydroxy-5-methylcoumestan showed biological activity in the leucocyte-5-lipoxygenase test and in the primary cultured hepatocytes systern.
