Local wisdom in the old Javanese script generally has the values of moral education as a source of learning and guidelines for achieving goals in various aspects of life. Local wisdom in the Javanese script by Mangkunegara IV, especially the Darmalaksita fiber or often referred to as Darmawasita, is very thick with moral education and motivation in achieving life success. This paper aims to describe how to achieve success in life and about the ethics of sociability. The method used is descriptive method, with literature techniques, and documentation. The results showed that the values of moral education in the Javanese text by Mangkunegara IV include individual, social and religious moral values, namely being a perfect human being: tough, noble, good personality, educated and knowledgeable, hardworking, and able to prosper the family. in undergoing household ark. The results of this study can be used as material for oriental character education, in this case Java.
<p>In the story of the ludruk play which is legendary in Java-Indonesia, Sarip Tambak Oso is chased and captured by the invaders. He is claimed to be a criminal who is very humiliated. However, the Javanese people immortalized him as a public figure with character because of his concern and courage in defending the rights of the poor who were wronged by the colonial government. This research has a qualitative approach with a case study type. The main problem is, how is the multi-character of Sarip Tambak Oso's play dehumanized by the colonialists? For this reason, the data source is in the form of documents, both printed (published manuscripts) and electronic (ludruk performances with the play Sarip Tambak Oso). The research data is in the form of language (expressions, words, phrases, sentences) in the story. Next, verbal data is described qualitatively. The results showed that Sarip Tambak Oso had the characters of (1) caring, (2) devotion, (3) nationalism, and (4) religious, and (5) fair. In conclusion, the five characters are necessary when dealing with colonial era invaders. In fact, now, its fluctuating actualization needs to be considered as thoroughly as possible in the millennial era. This is necessary because the dehumanization of the multi-characteristics of public figures is not a natural characteristic of the Javanese nation in the world, except when fighting for national independence, as exemplified by Sarip Tambak Oso in East Java, Indonesia.</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: dehumanization, characters, Sarip Tambak Oso, imperialism, ludruk plays, Javanese oral literature</p>
Kelompok Seni Teater Uduri di Desa Jaten merupakan sebuah wadah pengembangan potensi remaja di bidang seni pertunjukan. Sayangnya, keberadaan kelompok ini kurang diperhatikan. Untuk keperluan pelatihan keaktoran, komunitas yang mewadahinya diperlukan agar terorganisasi dengan baik. Dalam hal ini, pelatihan keaktoran akan dilaksanakan melalui Komunitas Seni Teater Uduri (KSTU). Solusi pelatihan dalam KSTU itu akan ditempuh dengan pertimbangan bahwa proses berkesenian bagi para anggota Karang Taruna di Desa Jaten, Kecamatan Jaten, Kabupaten Karanganyar, telah berlangsung meskipun peserta terbatas. Selain itu, KSTU telah memberikan layanan pelatihan perteateran bagi masyarakat secara terbuka. Artinya, peminat boleh bergabung meskipun keanggotaan umumnya dari kalangan pemuda. Untuk itu, target yang akan dicapai, yaitu terbentuknya karakter keaktoran bagi kelompok Karang Taruna guna saling mengenali nilai luhur antarbudaya daerah di nusantara.
<p>Abstract<br />The morals of life are often spoken and passed down by the ancestors in the form of songs accompanied by Javanese gamelan. It was intended to maintain the quality of the civilization of the coming regeneration. This study aims to describe the values of sublime speech values in the chants of songs sung by comedians of the ludruk arts in East Java. Using a qualitative case study type approach, the source of the data is in the form of widely published documents of the July-July hymns. Verbal data collected were analyzed descriptively-qualitatively. The results of the research show that the lines of the jula-juli hymn contain substance in various fields of life. As an example, the points of civility in the global era are presented, namely (1) nationalism, (2) heroism, (3) education, and (4) security, (5) economy, and (6) religion. From these findings it can be concluded that etiquette for life needs to be taught through oral literary arts, especially songs in jula-juli so that the dynamics of regeneration remain grounded and side with the identity of the ancestor's speech.</p><p>Keywords: nation's manners, songs, jula-juli ludruk</p>
Fenomena ketidakadilan gender dapat ditemukan di masyarakat dan potensial diangkat dalam karya sastra. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) bentuk ketidakadilan gender dalam naskah drama <em>Sampek Engtay </em>karya N. Riantiarno; (2) nilai pendidikan karakter dalam naskah drama <em>Sampek Engtay </em>karya N. Riantiarno; (3) relevansi naskah drama <em>Sampek Engtay </em>karya N. Riantiarno dengan pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik validasi data menggunakan triangulasi teori. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis mengalir. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) bentuk ketidakadilan gender yang dialami tokoh perempuan dalam naskah drama <em>Sampek Engtay</em> berupa marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotipe, kekerasan, dan beban kerja; (2) dalam naskah drama <em>Sampek Engtay</em> mengandung lima jenis representasi nilai pendidikan karakter, meliputi religius, nasionalisme, mandiri, gotong royong, dan integritas; (3) hasil analisis naskah drama <em>Sampek Engtay</em> karya N. Riantiarno ini relevan dan dapat digunakan sebagai materi untuk melatih berpikir kritis adanya masalah ketidakadilan gender pada kompetensi dasar menelaah struktur dan kebahasaan naskah drama di kelas XI SMA melalui model pembelajaran <em>problem based-learning</em> dengan metode jigsaw. Dapat disimpulkan teks drama <em>Sampek Engtay</em> memuat bentuk-bentuk ketidakadilan gender yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran sastra untuk mengembangkan sikap anti ketidakadilan gender pada siswa.
