Este artigo apresenta reflexões acerca das relações interculturais que podem atravessar a escrita acadêmica em coautoria, considerando o trançado entre culturas, línguas, entre o simbólico e o mitológico, densificado pelo movimento teórico-vivencial. No contexto de uma universidade comunitária (UNISC), de uma universidade pública (Unipampa) e de um grupo de pesquisa (Peabiru: educação ameríndia e interculturalidade UFRGS/UNISC), a relação entre pesquisadores indígenas e não indígenas fez emergir a Metodologia Vãfy, que convida a aproximar o que aparentemente não se junta: o mundo indígena e o não indígena. A narrativa de origem do povo Kaingang, que apresenta as metades clânicas kamé e kairú, inspira um desenho alternativo de produção acadêmica, cadenciado pelo protagonismo indígena que ensina a estar junto, construindo um campo de vivência intercultural que extrapola o espaço da universidade, reverberando nas relações humanas.
