In the long term, batik SMEs to compete in the local and global markets can not only rely on production capabilities rooted in local sources of uniqueness, but must have efficiency of economies scale for resource access and innovation. In a competitive environment, entrepreneurs in the batik industry have an important role to improve the efficiency. This study analyzed the role of entrepreneurs in the economic efficiency. This study applies production model to describe the entrepreneurs role on economic efficiency. The study was conducted by interviews to 100 Batik SMEs managers-owners in the Batik Centre in Solo, Pekalongan and Rembang. The entrepreneurs role in innovation in term of product innovation, marketing innovation, and business alliances (cooperatives). Data analysis was performed using Stochastic Frontier and Deterministic Regression Analysis. The empirical results of the technical inefficiency effects model suggest that the entrepreneurs role in product innovation, marketing innovation and business alliances are important factors affecting economic efficiency of batik SMEs. The role of entrepreneurship in marketing innovation has the highest elasticity of the production and sales of batik, and then followed by the role of entrepreneurs in new product innovation and business alliances.
Red chili is an agricultural commodity with high price volatility. Several previous studies stated that volatility was caused by weather effect on red chili production and shocks on public consumption. However, the other research stated that volatility was caused by the government’s import of red chili. This research aimed to analyze the price volatility of red chili in Semarang Regency on January 2019 to February 2020. The ARCH-GARCH method was applied in this study. This research showed that the price volatility of red chili occurred at the beginning, middle, and end of the year due to climate change, changes in public consumption patterns on religious holidays, and oversupply. However, the prevalence of Indonesia’s imports of red chili did not affect the price volatility. The government is suggested to implement a mapping policy and planting patterns to ensure the supply of red chili.
Kualitas tenaga pendidik sebagai agen pembelajaran di satuan pendidikan, guru yang profesional diharapkan dapat meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran dan mutu pendidikan di Indonesia secara berkelanjutan. Peningkatan kualitas pendidikan merupakan suatu proses yang terintegrasi dengan proses peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia itu sendiri. Dalam rangka peningkatan kualitas SDM peran guru sebagai tenaga pendidik dituntut menjadi tenaga profesional. Pentingnya peran guru sangat menentukan berhasilnya usaha peningkatan mutu pendidikan, terutama pada jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Peran guru secara konkrit dijelaskan, bahwa guru lebih tepat memiliki falsafah dan tujuan pendidikan, kriteria keberhasilan pendidikan, ilmu dan teori pendidikan yang relevan, struktur pendidikan, kurikulum, organisasi dan kepemimpinan pendidikan maupun pembiayaan pendidikan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru melalui pembuatan proposal penelitian tindakan kelas dan guru menjadi terbiasa melakukan karya pengembangan profesi melalui budaya meneliti dengn permasalahan di kelas yang dialami dan menulis di journal. Dalam upaya meningkatan profesionalisme dan meningkatkan budaya akademik, yang merupakan nilai-nilai budaya mutu. Hasil akhir adanya workshop dan pendampingan ini adalah guru dapat membuat penelitian tindakan kelas secara berkelanjutan dan dapat menulis karya pengembangan profesi untuk pengembangan diri tidak hanya PTK saja; Guru menguasai dan dapat memilih model-model pembelajaran sesuai kebutuhan dalam pembelajaran. Hal ini menunjukkan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sudah dilaksanakan sesuai dengan tujuan dan harapan antara masyarakat sasaran yaitu para guru SMA Kota Semarang dengan pengabdi yang dapat meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dalam karya pengembangan profesi melalui workshop dan pendampingan pembuatan karya ilmiah pengembangan profesi dan pengembangan diri dari tim pengabdi merupakan hasil nyata oleh para guru yang mengikuti workshop dan pendampingan PKB
Agropolitan program, so far, has not been widely acknowledged by public. Various facilities have not been optimally utilized due to their functions as there are only limited parties aware upon this program. Developing agropolitan areas through superior horticultural commodities development has not increased farmers' exchange rate. Gaps between planning and implementation in developing agropolitan areas encourage a research with the goal of strategies in developing agropolitan areas in Rojonoto of Wonosobo district. Type of this research is a quantitative description. Primary and secondary data are used. The primary data are taken from 18 key-person agropolitan stakeholders. Priorities in developing Agropolitan areas in Rojonoto of Wonosobo district may be obtained through sequences of priority by improving human resources and technologies, the provision of production inputs, infrastructures, policies, and institutions. Kesenjangan yang terjadi antara perencanaan dan pelaksanaan di daerah-daerah pengembangan agropolitan mendorong dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan menemukan strategi pengembangan daerah agropolitan di Rojonoto, Kabupaten of Wonosobo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskripsi kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data primer dan sekunder. Data primer yang diambil dari 18 orang stakeholder agropolitan. Prioritas dalam pengembangan kawasan Agropolitan di Rojonoto Wonosobo dilakukan dengan urutan prioritas yaitu meningkatkan sumber daya manusia dan teknologi, penyediaan input produksi, infrastruktur, kebijakan, dan institusi. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah daerah lebih memperhatikan mengembangkan sumber daya manusia dan teknologi, tanpa mengabaikan kriteria lainnya.Kata kunci: strategi pembangunan, daerah agropolitan, sumber daya manusia, hierarchical process analysis Klasifikasi JEL: R11, I38, O15, C440
Sustainable development is a global agenda with issues of economic growth, environment, and welfare. The instrument for realizing sustainable development is through sustainable tourism. Agrotourism as an effort to apply the principles of sustainable tourism focusing on environmental, social, and economic dimensions. This study aims to find a sustainable tourism model in Pagilaran Tea Plantation Agrotourism. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study concept. The data collection techniques used in the study were observation, in-depth interviews, literature study, and documentation. The data were analyzed by source triangulation and the data were analyzed with the help of Atlas.ti.8 software. The result of this study was the model of sustainable tourism in Pagilaran Tea Plantation Agrotourism that involves social, economic, ecological, cultural, and educational dimensions. The novelty of this study is that the Sustainable Tourism model in Pagilaran Tea Plantation Agrotourism involves the University element and is committed to upholding the principles of Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely Education, Research, and Community Service. Pagilaran Tea Plantation Agrotourism implements Pentahelix collaboration in realizing sustainable tourism by involving academics, companies, communities, government, and media. Pagilaran Tea Plantation Agrotourism is committed to being a vehicle for family tourism, the official tourism, and study tour by prioritizing edutourism and providing ecological insight. The tourism potentials such as Tea walking, Tea Factory, and tea picking dance become the uniqueness and attraction of Pagilaran Tea Plantation Agrotourism. The novelty result of this study is that the Educational dimension is an element that can strengthen the realization of Sustainable Tourism.
