Résumé A partir d’une enquête ethnographique menée pendant 10 mois au sein d’une compagnie de danse contemporaine, cette recherche se propose d’analyser les effets des aides publiques sur le travail des structures artistiques. Le cas de la danse est ici intéressant puisque dans ce domaine économiquement précaire et à fortes concurrences, les enjeux financiers et symboliques que recouvre le soutien public sont importants. Ainsi nous verrons comment différents types de stratégies se mettent en place au sein de la structure en réponse aux injonctions politique, et ce tant au niveau collectif qu’au niveau individuel.

Résumé La danse, prise au sens large, est souvent envisagée comme un exemple typique d’activité de loisirs conduisant à l’inculcation précoce de normes corporelles propres au ‘féminin’. Néanmoins, peu de travaux se sont spécifiquement intéressés aux premiers temps d’apprentissage de cette discipline. Ce travail vise à rendre compte d’une recherche ethnographique réalisée dans deux structures associatives d’éducation chorégraphique. Deux groupes de jeunes danseuses, âgées de 4 à 11 ans, ont été suivis dans leurs premières leçons d’initiation ou après quelques années de pratiques. Au croisement d’une sociologie de la socialisation et d’une sociologie de l’enfance, cet article porte plus particulièrement son attention sur les modalités de la socialisation corporelle de fillettes et de l’appropriation progressive d’éléments susceptibles de les constituer en ‘classe de sexe’.
