Zusammenfassung: In Deutschland beschäftigen Werkstätten für behinderte Menschen vom Arbeitsmarkt ausgeschlossene Personen mit einer vollen Erwerbsminderung. Sie haben, neben dem Ziel der Teilhabe am Arbeitsleben von Menschen mit Behinderungen, die (Wieder-)Herstellung von Leistungsfähigkeit und den Übergang in den allgemeinen Arbeitsmarkt zu verfolgen. Der Beitrag untersucht den Wandel der Organisation und Funktion von Werkstätten für behinderte Menschen in Bezug auf ihre Stellung zum allgemeinen Arbeitsmarkt und beschreibt Praktiken der ‚Fremd-Führung' in beruflicher Rehabilitation ethnografisch. Es wird aufgezeigt, wie Werkstätten sich an allgemeinen Arbeitsmarkterfordernissen orientieren, und argumentiert, dass ‚Erwerbsminderung' in der Logik ‚neosozialer Rationalität' (Lessenich, 2008) erwerbsförmige Behinderungen hervorbringt und festigt.
