A software tool developed in Matlab for short-term load forecasting (STLF) is presented. Different forecasting methods such as artificial neural networks, multiple linear regression, curve fitting have been integrated into a stand-alone application with a graphical user interface. Real power consumption data have been used. They have been provided by the branches of the distribution system operator from the Southern-Western part of the Romanian Power System. This paper is an extended variant of [4].
Logopedics is special pedagogical subject that deals with the prevention and correction of speech defects. Logopedics as a science was formed out of practical and theoretical reasons, extending its area from the language and communication research in relation to the evolution of personality to that of the formulation of laws and methods of language correction, the presentation of verbal difficulties, and verbal behavior stimulation. Speech disorders are determined by a range of causes that act isolated or associated, this is why the causes must be thoroughly known, as to establish the diagnosis and find the best therapeutic intervention methods. There is an increasing number of children with speech disorders in kindergarten environment. An experiment was conducted to observe the difficulties teachers face. A group of 20 children (8 girls and 12 boys) was used for a period of 4 months on whom questionnaires to correct language disorders were applied.
Due to rapid technological progress the world of education is continuously changing. In recent decades, the use of the Internet, together with new information and communication technologies, has become an important component of teaching/learning strategies in universities. Today, e-Learning has become a viable alternative to traditional methods, and adopted by many educational institutions, especially because of the advantages offered by the possibility of continuous training. In Romania, these new teaching/learning strategies face rapid development. In the Romanian academic environment, e-Learning is predicted to be an excellent tool. Initially, this concept has replaced the classical methodology of distance education, with materials written on CDs. Further, the possibility of connecting via the Internet has facilitated the development of collaborative environments, virtual classrooms, and synchronous and asynchronous training. Our study shows that modern teaching/learning methods (e-Learning) can achieve results at least as good as those obtained by traditional techniques.
This paper investigates the applicability of Iterative Feedback Tuning (IFT) to the level control of a three-tank system laboratory equipment. First two PID controllers are designed in terms of the frequency domain approach. Next IFT is employed to improve the control system performance indices. Digital simulation results and real-time experimental results validate the new control solution.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
