Wild-captured 16 diploid, five triploid and one tetraploid Prussian carp Carassius gibelio males produced motile haploid, aneuploid (1Á5n) and haploid to aneuploid (> 2n) sperm, respectively, in similar concentration and with the lowest percentage of live spermatozoa in sperm for the tetraploid male (mean AE S.D. 83Á03 AE 1Á76%; P < 0Á05) compared to diploid and triploid males (97Á37 AE 1Á11% and 96Á70 AE 1Á45%; P > 0Á05).
