The purpose of this research is to develop scientific literacy-based science text books and to determine the characteristics, validity, readability, as well as the effectiveness of the textbooks.The study started with product development and then continued by feasibility test and readability test. Feasibility test was done with the respondent of lecturer and science teachers of VII, VIII, IX grade at SMP N at Central Java. Readability test used cloze test that filled by VII, VIII, and IX grade students at that schools. The data analysis was done with percentage discription and t-test. The study results in feasibility test showed that the developed literacy science textbook has average score 90,74%. It means the literacy science textbook is suitable. Based on the readability test result, science literacy textbook is easy to learn. The average of score of cloze test was 88,14%. The effectiveness of the developed science textbook was classified as an effective stimulant to increase students' scientific literacy. ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan buku ajar IPA berbasis literasi sains, menentukan karakteristik, kevalidannya, tingkat keterbacaan, dan keefektifannya. Penelitian pengembangan ini dimulai dengan analisis kebutuhan, penyusunan tema, pengembangan buku ajar, uji kevalidan dan keterbacaan buku yang telah dikembangkan. Validasi dilakukan oleh dosen dan guru IPA kelas VII, VII, IX. Uji validitas, tingkat keterbacaan dan keefektifan buku dilakukan di SMP N di Jawa Tengah. Subjek ujicoba adalah siswa kelas VII, VIII, IX. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif persentase untuk uji kevalidan dan keterbacaan, dan uji t untuk keefektifan. Hasil validasi menunjukkan seluruh buku yang dikembangkan adalah valid dengan rata-rata skor 90,74% berada pada kategori sangat valid. Skor rata-rata tingkat keterbacaan sebesar 88,14% beradapada kategori mudah dipahami. Buku ajar yang dikembangkan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains.
The coastal area of Semarang City has a strategic function for regional economic development. Due to land use change, the environmental quality of coastal area is damaged and declining. The environmental quality decline has affected the socio-economic quality of local community. This research aims to investigate the role of local community in sustainable environmental management in Semarang City coastal area. The study takes place in two kelurahans, namely Tugurejo and Mangunharjo, and applies a descriptive qualitative approach to figure out the local community role in the coastal environment rehabilitation. Data collection through a preliminary survey supported with a satellite imagery study covers up an appropriate ecosystem with the research substance. Then the following data analysis and interpretation uses Miles and Huberman interactive analysis method. The results show the significant role of the local community in coastal area quality management and improvement in Semarang City more effectively and efficiently. This relates to their active interactions in various community-based programs including wave-breaking instrument building and mangrove nursery and planting.
<span lang="EN-US">This study was to explore how enhance communication skill through problem posing and presentation method. The subjects of this research were the seven grade students Junior High School, including 20 male and 14 female. This research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of four steps, they were: planning, action, observation, and reflection. This study use interview, observation, and questionnaire to measure most widely used data gathering in communication skill students, and daily test (pre-test and post-test) to measure enhance achievement the students’. The data was analyzed comparing initial and final score. If the final score is better than initial score had been enhanced. Results of this study indicated that teaching and learning science used problem posing and presentation method can enhance ability communication skill, confidence, courage and responsibility on themselves disciples. Researcher is suggestion to use another method to enhance communication skill</span><span>. </span>
Biology learning in MA (Madrasah Aliyah) Khas Kempek was still dominated by teacher with low students' involvement. This study would analyze the effectiveness of the 5E (Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, Evaluation) learning model in improving scientific knowledge and problems solving. It also explained the relationship between students' scientific reasoning with their problem-solving abilities. This was a pre-experimental research with one group pre-test post-test. Sixty students of MA Khas Kempek from XI MIA 3 and XI MIA 4 involved in this study. The learning outcome of the students was collected by the test of reasoning and problem-solving. The results showed that the rises of students' scientific reasoning ability were 69.77% for XI MIA 3 and 66.27% for XI MIA 4, in the medium category. The problem-solving skills were 63.40% for XI MIA 3, 61.67% for XI MIA 4, and classified in the moderate category. The simple regression test found a linear correlation between students' scientific reasoning and problem-solving ability. This study affirms that reasoning ability is needed in problem-solving. It is found that application of 5E learning model was effective to improve scientific reasoning and problem-solving ability of students. The purpose of the community partnership program activities (PKM) is the empower the target audience to have knowledge about the importance of utilizing leisure time with positive activities that can bring profit or additional income, namely by making handicrafts made from plastic waste. Utilizatio of plastic waste is still rarely done in area where citizens do not pay attention to things such as craft creativity by using waste at the Magersari Permai housing in Sidoarjo Regency there is also no attempt to use plastic waste that is processed into handicraft. In addition, there are still many young mothers who are still productive but do not have jobs only as housewives who have a lot of free time, which has been used a lot of unproductive things such as watching TV or chatting with neighborn. The benefit of this PKM activity is that the holding of this community service is expected to be useful or useful for 1) Increasing the knowledge of mothers about the importance of utilizing free time with beneficial and beneficial activities 2) Increasing the skills of mothers in making craft. 3) Maintaining and creating environmental hygiene by utilizing plastic waste into handicrafts that have a selling value that can increase the familys economic income.Keywords: Handicrafts, Plastic, Waste, and Creativity.
