This study, entitled The Use of Whatsapp asa CommunicationMedia for studentsthesis guidance. This study aimed to describe the use of whatsapp as a media of communication betweenlecturers with students for thesis guidance. Therefore, it is interesting to examine how students communicate to the supervisor via whatsapp, includingthe consultations about the thesis guidance in performing routine tasks for the students’ final thesis. The subjects were students of communication department who were doing thesis guidance numbered 72 people in 2016. The informants werethe lecturersof 10 peoplewho certainly connected with the researcher’s whatsapp. The researcher used the theory of diffusion of innovation and social penetration theory to analyze the data. While the method used in this research was a field study where the researcher plunged into the field and the data were taken directly from the study sites. Furthermore, the researcherstudied literatures by finding material from books, articles, and scientific journals. With the phenomenological method, the researcher obtained an overview of the entire process experience of using whatsapp as a communication between the lecturers with the students. Through whatsapp interpersonal communication activities will be established as an alternative media when students and lecturers could not hold a thesis counseling process face to face. They will continue discussing without space and time. This is in order to anticipate a very shortthesis guidance schedule and lecturers’ bustle. Students are assisted without waiting to hear from lecturers about guidance schedules, thesis discussion and others. Because the whatsapp discussion group has been formed by lecturers and students for thesis guidance. This is in order to motivate the students, improve academic activities such as paper consultation, and avoid students from stress feeling during thesis guidance. Elucidator role on SL-PTT program is really important. As spreading the information in elucidation activity was directly doing to the farmers. The elucidator prosecuted not only to be able to spread the information about SL-PTT but it should helps the farmer to analyze the happening situation, enhance their knowledge about SL-PTT, and develop their insight toward the problem too. The purposes of this research are to describe about communication effectiveness between elucidator with the farmer and acknowledge how far the relationship between farmer characteristic and communication effectiveness on SL-PTT program. This research use quantitative-descriptive with the population of farmworker group in Kerkap Subdistrict, Bengkulu Utara Regency. The sample-taking of 90 people from farmworker group doing by using Slovin’s formula. Determine the amount sample per farmworker group using Proportionale Random Sampling and Accidental Sampling used for choosing sample per each group of farmworker. Data-gathering was doing by gone round a set of question toward the respondent to be answered through questionnaire. And the data analysis is using correlation Chi-Square, a correlation test that has fuction to observe relation between two variable. The result of this research shows that the communication effectiveness of farming elucidation on SL-PTT program in Kerkap, Bengkulu Utara, rated with effective enough. Age variable is significant related with communication effectiveness between elucidator and farmer. Education level is significant related with communication effectiveness between elucidator and farmer. Landmass is significant related with communication effectiveness between elucidator and farmer. Media consumption is significant related with communication effectiveness between elucidator and farmer. Too, the frequency to join elucidation is significant related with communication effectiveness between elucidator and farmer. And the most dominant farmer’s characteristic that related to communication efectiveness is the farmer education level and frequency following the guidance.
IMPROVING RESOURCES OF VILLAGE SOCIETY IN COMMUNITY LEARNING ACTIVITY CENTER. The lack of productivity and economic activity carried out by the community is caused by the lack of knowledge and skills possessed. Thus, the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) was established as a community-based education tool. PKBM Alena Smart School in Tebat Monok Village and PKBM Az-Zahir in Talang Karet Village are two of several PKBM in Kepahiang Regency. PKM team and both of PKBM are together as partners make efforts to improve community skills and improvement of education services through training and advisory methods aimed to improve the quality of production, management and marketing with an expectation of achieving economic and educational improvements that lead to improving the welfare of Tebat Monok and Talang Karet Village Community. The result of the activity that has been achieved is the formation of a small industry managed by the community of Tebat Monok in the guidance of PKBM Alena Smart School which is focused on making handicraft and handmade with trademark of Tebat Monok Thonksys Galery And Craft. As for the Talang Karet village community, the business is focused on processed foods with trademarks of Talang Karet Thonksys Cake's. For the business able to run well, team also created the training and assistance in the field of management for administration and for direct marketing activities, team created the activity about to makin display in PKBM Location and created the promotion bay the sosial media instagram. Other than that, PKM activities are also carried out to improve education services in both PKBM so that the equalization of Package A, B, and C in PKBM Alena Smart School and guidance in PKBM Az-Zahir becomes more comfortable, which is also supported by the Park Community Reading.
Latar Belakang : Perilaku masyarakat di masa pandemi Covid-19 salah satunya adalah semakin dekat dengan media digital sebagai alat yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mendapatkan informasi apapun, di sisi lain, pandemi dapat menyebabkan perubahan perilaku yang berdampak pada gejolak sosial di tengah masyarakat. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk masyarakat Indonesia. Seluruh penelitian yang dibahas memiliki topik yang sama yaitu berkaitan dengan Fomo (Fear Of Missing Out). Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka dilakukan untuk membahas tentang literatur yang didapatkan, baik dari segi hasil atau gagasan yang bersifat academic oriented. Literatur ini bersifat analisis deskriptif yang disajikan dalam bentuk penjelasan dan disusun melalui beberapa proses berdasarkan data yang mudah dipahami. Hasil : Kajian ini melalui proses pemilihan topik, pencarian sumber kajian, hasil analisis, diskusi, hingga mendapatkan kesimpulan. Dari 18 (delapan belas) literatur terbaru yang telah dikaji dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan sejumlah penggunaan media sosial selama pandemi diduga disebabkan karena adanya keinginan individu untuk dapat terhubung dengan orang lain. Fear of Missing Out melibatkan kecemasan dan dorongan yang kuat dalam menggunakan media sosial ketika sedang offline. Kesimpulan : Adanya hasrat untuk terus-menerus mengikuti kegiatan orang lain di media sosial dan ketika hal tersebut tidak terealisasikan, maka individu akan mengalami yang namanya gangguan kecemasan sosial, seperti kurang rasa percaya diri, merasa terhinakan, depresi, merasa sendirian dan dikucilkan karena tidak dapat berinteraksi dengan orang lain.
The tradition among all is a Javanese tradition carried out to commemorate the birthday of someone in the Javanese calendar. One of the Javanese who still carries out the traditions among the Javanese is in Magelang Village, Kerkap District, North Bengkulu Regency. This study aims to examine the value of harmony and family values of ethnic Javanese in the tradition of among those in the village of Magelang. The method of this research is qualitative research using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis. Determination of informants in this study was purposive sampling and data collection using observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that Charcoal (symbolizing the furnace in the kitchen), money (all human needs purchased with money), rice (indicating cooked food), banana leaves (as a base for eating), red porridge (symbolizing maternal blood), porridge white (symbolizing father's sperm cells), fern leaves (as traditional medicine), dadap leaves (as traditional medicine when children are sick), eggs (as the center in ngepong emong), and urap (symbolizing ancient simplicity), while developing myths about the tradition of among the people is that this tradition is carried out to ask for the safety of the child to avoid being disturbed by supernatural beings. The value of harmony and family values of Javanese ethnic in Magelang Village are maintained and intertwined with the implementation of these traditions. The community still adheres to the philosophy "manganese manganese is important to collect" to become their foundation in maintaining harmony and kinship between them.
