The new products provided by the development of information technology (scanners, barcodes, RFIDs, etc.) can currently provide methods and techniques towards achieving important savings in terms of management of logistical support of military units, especially in terms of efficiency in providing material goods to combat forces that are preparing and training through military exercises. I set out to make an “x-ray” of this way of improving the logistical support, especially through the method of identification by labels that use radiofrequency (Radio Frequency Identification/RFID).
Providing logistical support, the organisation and preparation of a military structure for deployment in a theatre of operations for participating in a multinational operation arise many problems, in particular, due to the factors influencing the conduct of that operation. In this article we intend to present the specific logistical support activities that are carried out during the preparation of a force designated to participate in a multinational operation, as well as the main activities carried out in the line of logistical support management for the preparation of a contingent for the execution of an international mission, all these taking into account the factors influencing this particularly important logistical support activity.
The importance of the topic in question results from the complexity of the phenomena that mark the evolution of the society that led to the globalization of risks and threats to regional and global stability. A realistic understanding of the conditions under which an armed conflict can take place, coupled with a correct vision of the confrontation environment, makes the chance of success to bow substantially in favour of those who prepare in detail and in advance to effectively manage the possible situations of the armed conflict.
The proliferation of risks and unconventional threats, especially the hybrid ones, requires the finding of integrated security solutions, both nationally and internationally. The beginning of the millennium reveals new ideas for conducting military conflicts. Thus, within the future confrontations characterized by a high degree of complexity, awareness of the need and development of some mechanisms necessary for the inter-institutional integration and the effects of the actions of all power tools, military and civilian, is a priority of major significance.
In this regard, the present article presents some mechanisms, guidelines and methods that could lead to inter-institutional integration.
The fundamental objective of the military units’ logistic system during peacetime is ensuring necessary logistic support for the military personnel to properly carry out the training and instruction activities in order to fulfill the missions assigned to the military units at every hierachical level. Concurrently, the logistic system of the military units during peacetime tracks the supply of material assets for emergency situations, crisis, mobilization and war. Achieving logistic support for military units during peacetime depends on a number of principles that underpin the provision of high-quality logistic support necessary for the fulfillment of the basic mission and the fundamental objectives of each military structure.
