DIRECTIONS AND PROSPECTS OF EDUCATION IN OUR TIME: A CONCEPTUAL COMPARED APPROACH ABSTRACT:This paper seeks to highlight the theoretical responsible for guiding the educational proposals that are gradually engendered in educational projects. We understand that the planning process of education in the modern world was largely buoyed by universal values intended for the construction of an autonomous human being, enlightened and emancipated. In contrast, the ideals of the capitalist system, filtered by market logic within the neoliberal mindset, resulting in an educational project circumscribed by the trend of professionalization. In order to go beyond the one-sidedness of a professional education in the late twentieth century in Brazil the model of Citizen School designed by Paulo Freire brought new perspectives to the human.
