El artículo presenta un modelo para analizar el impacto de la inmigración teniendo en cuenta los condicionantes materiales y los factores institucionales que inciden, mediatizados por los medios de comunicación de masas, en tres dimensiones: la seguridad ciudadana, la identidad cultural y la competencia por los recursos, de la sociedad receptora. Si bien este modelo se diseñó para llevar a cabo el análisis comparativo del impacto de la inmigración en cuatro países del sur de Europa (España, Grecia, Italia, Portugal), el presente artículo recoge los resultados obtenidos para el caso español. 1. La concentración de las mujeres immigrantes extracomunitarias en los servicios de proximidad hace efectiva la triple discriminación laboral-por razón de clase social, género y etnia-a la que se enfrenta este colectivo en la sociedad receptora. El artículo pretende explicar esta posición en el mercado de trabajo a partir del estudio del «contexto de recepción», teniendo en cuenta la influencia de los factores institucionales y, en especial, el análisis de la estructura de la demanda del mercado de trabajo. La adopción de la perspectiva de género a lo largo del análisis, pone en evidencia las relaciones patriarcales y el trasvase de cargas reproductivas entre mujeres de distinta clase social y origen étnico. ResumenEste artículo revisa los principales enfoques teóricos en el estudio del desarrollo desde una perspectiva de género; con el fin de analizar cómo ha ido evolucionando el tratamiento que desde ellos se ha dado a las relaciones de género y cuáles son los instrumentos conceptuales que deben utilizarse para abordar en su globalidad el papel que desempeña la mujer en el desarrollo. Este artículo aborda los efectos que el tipo de organización social de los cuidados en España –en el contexto de la pandemia provocada por el COVID-19– está teniendo para las mujeres inmigrantes empleadas en el sector del trabajo del hogar y de los cuidados, en una dinámica de intensificación de los riesgos y desigualdades en el disfrute de derechos y de bienestar. Para ello, analiza el nexo migración-cuidados a la luz de las dinámicas meso y macro que van a permitir identificar los efectos, sus causas y la propuesta de posibles medidas y políticas para mejorar la situación de las mujeres inmigrantes empleadas en este sector, máximo exponente de la precariedad y la vulnerabilidad.
