A series of lanthanide coordination polymers formulated as {[Ln 2 (HPIDC) 6), Tm (7), Yb ( 8)] (H 3 PIDC = 2-(pyridin-4-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid, H 2 bdc = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid) based on pyridyl functionalized imidazole dicarboxylic acid ligand have been synthesized by hydrothermal methods and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. Compounds 1-3 are one-dimensional (1D) cationic chains linked by the H 3 PIDC ligands, and the free H 2 PIDC 2 act as counter ions in the crystal lattice. Compound 4 displays a 2D layer built up from 3-connected HPIDC 22 ligands and 4-connected Dy(III) ions. While compounds 5-8 possess 2D network constructed from HPIDC 22 and bdc 22 ligands. The solid-state photoluminescent measurements show the photoluminescence of 1-5 are typical narrow emission bands of their lanthanide cations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
