The article deals with genetic algorithms and their application in face identification. The purpose of the research is to develop a free and open-source facial composite system using evolutionary algorithms, primarily processes of selection and breeding. The initial testing proved higher quality of the final composites and massive reduction in the composites processing time. System requirements were specified and future research orientation was proposed in order to improve the results.
Abstract-Besides new technology, a huge volume of data in various form has been available for people. Image data represents a keystone of many research areas including medicine, forensic criminology, robotics and industrial automation, meteorology and geography as well as education. Therefore, obtaining specific information from image databases has become of great importance. Images as a special category of data differ from text data as in terms of their nature so in terms of storing and retrieving. Image Mining as a research field is an interdisciplinary area combining methodologies and knowledge of many branches including data mining, computer vision, image processing, image retrieval, statistics, recognition, machine learning, artificial intelligence etc. This review focuses researching the current image mining approaches and techniques aiming at widening the possibilities of facial image analysis. This paper aims at reviewing the current state of the IM as well as at describing challenges and identifying directions of the future research in the field.
Abstract. Penetrating computers and process automation into all the fields of human activity meant a breakthrough in the research of forensic methods applied on facial composite production. Although the issues stemming from unsatisfying graphical presentation of composites have been resolved by implementing computational technique into creating facial composites, software developed and used by the police in the most countries of the world still has not achieved satisfactory results. The research presented in this paper aims at developing an alternative technique respecting human ability of recognizing faces and eliminating the limitations of the previous systems as identified by psychologists within several years. The paper is concerned with a novel method of generating facial pictures. We presented the initial research on holistic and hybrid model and demonstrated the ability of generating novel facial images based on the proposed solution.
A lot of papers describe three common methods of data selection from primary systems. This paper defines how to select the correct method or combinations of methods for minimizing the impact of production system and common operation. Before using any method, it is necessary to know the primary system and its databases structures for the optimal use of the actual data structure setup and the best design for ETL process. Databases structures are usually categorized into groups, which characterize their quality. The classification helps to find the ideal method for each group and thus design a solution of ETL process with the minimal impact on the data warehouse and production system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
