Статья посвящена малоизвестному сирийскому святому VIII -начала IX в. Тимофею из Кахушты. Дается общий обзор его агиографической традиции, включающей памятники на арабском и грузинском языках. На основе тщательного анализа арабского жития мож-но сделать уверенный вывод о том, что святой Тимофей был столпником и, таким обра-зом, житие этого святого может служить источником сведений для изучения сирийского столпничества в мусульманскую эпоху и его отражения в агиографии. Тот факт, что в житии отсутствует акцент на столпничестве главного героя, согласуется с общей тенден-цией развития византийской агиографии о столпниках. Значительное место в житии от-ведено прижизненным чудесам святого, благодаря чему создается яркая картина жизни христиан сирийской глубинки раннеаббасидского времени. В статье также анализируют-ся два важных сюжета жития -один, свидетельствующий о монофелитском характере маронитского богословия рассматриваемого периода, и другой, повествующий о чудес-ном исцелении сына халифа Харуна ар-Рашида Антиохийским патриархом Феодоритом и имеющий параллель в хронике патриарха Евтихия Александрийского.Среди памятников средневековой восточно-христианской агиографии сохрани-лось значительное число житий, герои которых со временем были забыты, и их почитание утрачено. Один из таких святых -подвижник Тимофей из селения Кахушта близ Антиохии. Время его жизни можно отнести к VIII -началу IX в.
В статье рассматриваются три произведения, написанные в жанре утешения, или consolatio, средневековыми арабо-христианскими писателями Илией аль-Джаухари, Севиром ибн аль-Мукаффой и Илией бар Шинаей. Целью исследо-вания является показать зависимость их творчества от предшествующей тради-ции, включая трактат арабо-мусульманского философа аль-Кинди, послужив-ший для них связующим звеном с античностью. На основе проведенного ана-лиза делается вывод о частичном продолжении арабо-христианскими авторами традиции consolatio, с точки зрения литературной формы трактата-письма, и об их новаторстве в плане содержания. На смену преобладавшему ранее поджанру утешения по случаю смерти у арабоязычных писателей приходит общетеоре-тический трактат о борьбе со скорбью безотносительно причины ее возникно-вения. Все три автора в той или иной мере наполняют текст богословским со-держанием, но выбирают для этого разные стратегии. Илия бар Шинайя выво-дит проблему на обобщенный этический уровень, рассматривая ее в контексте добродетелей и пороков и строя свое сочинение преимущественно как сборник цитат. Илья аль-Джаухари и Севир ибн аль-Мукаффа пытаются соединить аргу-ментацию античного consolatio с доводами, опирающимися на тексты, актуаль-ные для христианского читателя, прежде всего библейские. При этом первый из них использует главным образом сюжеты Ветхого Завета, актуальные и для мусульманских читателей, а второй активно синтезирует античный и христи-анский материал, в результате чего можно говорить о возникновении общетео-ретического трактата в жанре consolatio, впервые наполненного христианским содержанием. Данное явление, по мнению автора статьи, следует поставить в связь с мощным культурным импульсом, полученным арабоязычными автора-ми в период так называемого Аббасидского возрождения.
В статье рассматривается функционирование образа камня в Евангелии от Матфея с учетом традиции ранних и средневековых толкований. Большинство изученных контекстов относится к одному из пяти выделенных в ходе исследования семантических гнезд: камни-народ, камень-искушение, камень-основание, камень-Христос, каменьключ к типологии. В основу анализа положен принцип выявления параллелей с ветхозаветными «каменными» мотивами, который оказался крайне продуктивным. Богатое символическое содержание образа камня в Танахе (символ избранности, связанный с генезисом еврейского народа; символ сакральности, воплощающий связь между двумя реальностями в виде материала, предназначенного для жертвенника и храма; символ оппозиции «мертвое-живое») служит отправной точкой для его новозаветного развития, выражающегося в углублении и переосмыслении этих граней. В итоге включенность евангелиста Матфея в ветхозаветный контекст оказывается гораздо шире и глубже, чем принято считать, лишь исходя из большого количества приводимых им цитат. Комплексный анализ всех упоминаний камня, встречающихся в Евангелии от Матфея, наглядно показывает, что они представляют собой не произвольный набор не связанных друг с другом мотивов, а своего рода мозаику, разные элементы которой активно взаимодействуют на семантическом и символическом уровнях. Две идеи, заданные уже в Евангелии от Матфея,-«оживших камней» и смены заветов-по-видимому, лежат в центре символики образа камня в Новом Завете, хотя эта символика ими не ограничивается. Отдельное внимание в статье уделяется лексическому анализу слов, связанных с «каменной» тематикой в греческом тексте и его переводах. Специфика сакрального текста, связанная с его многозначностью, которая постепенно раскрывается в традиции толкования, может быть наглядно показана на примере того или иного значимого образа. В настоящей работе мы делаем попытку применить этот подход к тексту Евангелия от Матфея, выбрав в качестве объекта образ камня 1 и ставя своей целью комплексный анализ всех связанных с 1 Данной публикацией мы планируем открыть цикл, посвященный поэтике образа камня в Новом Завете.
