Activated carbon can be the best selection for the solid media of hydrogen storage materials because of cheap, good availability, high quantity of pore on its surface and good adsorption capacity. To obtain optimal handling of coconut charcoal-based (CSAC) without reducing its property on hydrogen adsorption capacity, the effect of mechanochemical and pelletizing process to CSAC was examined. Mechanical milling by using planetary ball mill was conducted to reduce particle size distribution and to mechanochemically process CSAC with KOH. CSAC particles reduce its particle size distribution to nano and sub micron size due to mechanical milling. After mechanochemical and pelletizing process, the surface area and pore volume of CSAC decrease to 68.5% and 61% compared with those of as received sample. However, hydrogen adsorption capacity of CSAC pellet only decrease 5 and 9% at measurement pressure and temperature of 4000 kPa, -5oC and 4000 kPa, 25oC, respectively.
The limited stock of non-renewable fuels has caused the necessity of finding alternative renewable and substitute fuels such as bioethanol. However, the high cost of the raw materials and the risk of transferring agricultural lands are the main obstacle to production and loss in food supplies. Therefore, the utilization of palm oil waste, empty fruit bunches (EFB), can solve this problem. This study aims to determine the optimum fermentation condition of bioethanol production by using NaOH and H2SO4 for degrading the lignin and converting cellulose to glucose. Three concentrations of H2SO4 were used in the fermentation process. In addition, refractive index, pH, and ethanol content were analyzed to measure the bioethanol.
Nicknames for the Moringa tree include the Miracle Tree, the Tree of Life, and the Amazing Tree. One of the most prominent content of Moringa plants is antioxidants, especially in leaves that contain the highest antioxidants. This research is entitled Biscuit Product Development by utilizing Moringa Oleifera Flour as an additional source of nutrition, this study refers to the research master plan of the Sriwijaya State Polytechnic which aims to obtain useful products that can be marketed and increase product added value. The main objective of this research was to determine the effect of adding Moringa leaf flour to the quality of biscuits. The results showed that the addition of moringa leaf flour affected the water content, ash content, protein, calcium and vitamin C. The panelist cho ice biscuits were formula F2 biscuits with the addition of 2 grams of Moringa leaf flour or 0.1% and the result of formula F2 analysis was the water content by 3.85%, Ash content 0.78%, Protein 6.37% Calcium 164 mg/g sample, vitamin C 0.13%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
