Nowadays, people are turning to the internet to search for information and are completing their work using web systems or mobile applications as their medium. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between web systems and end-user effectiveness and performance. This study collected information using primary data, with a population of 200 students from University Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) in the Faculty of Informatics and Computing. According to Krejcie and Morgan's 1970 table, the sample size is 132. By using SPSS software, the Pearson Correlation formula tests the input. Based on the testing data, the effectiveness of the user using a web based system is 0.633, whereas the effectiveness of using a mobile application is 0.973. In conclusion, there is a moderate relationship between using web systems and the effectiveness of the end-user. Furthermore, there is a strong relationship between using mobile applications and the effectiveness of the end-user. This study recommends that future researchers and the developers of web systems or mobile applications should design better and more suitable questionnaires to achieve excellent results. Developers need to be aware of the relationship between web systems and mobile applications and their end-users so that they can improve their systems and applications.
The Malaysian government's objective of wanting to establish rapid growth of women entrepreneurs is a high priority, while the long-term sustainability and survival of business are also given similar importance. Malaysian government actively promotes women's involvement in entrepreneurship with the aim of stimulating the country's economy. However, many women entrepreneurs, especially in developing countries, lack competencies. Thus, the present study aims to propose a model for women business success that aligns with entrepreneurial competencies It has utilised 6 dimensions of entrepreneurial competencies, which are: strategic competencies, commitment competencies, organizing competencies, relationship competencies, commitment competencies, opportunity competencies and conceptual competencies. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) has been employed as the main statistical technique in this study. Overall, the study has found that only four of the independent variables (i.e. elements of entrepreneurial competencies), namely relationship, opportunity, organizing and commitment competencies have significant relationships with women's business success. The remaining 2 domains, strategic competencies and conceptual competencies have revealed to be not significant. The findings are likely to be useful to SMEs, as they have highlighted the necessity of focusing on training to yield increased effectiveness. The model from this study will also further contribute towards the development of literature review related to the favourable outcome for women entrepreneurs.
In modern economics, one of the most common raising trends is entrepreneurship. It can be said that entrepreneurship is the main foundation to economic development in both developed and developing countries. Nowadays, the empowerment of women, especially in Malaysia through entrepreneurial activities is essential for poverty alleviation and meaningful involvement in business growth. Also, the effective function of social capital will assist and encourage women entrepreneurs to make greater contributions to household income, which, when combined with other interventions to increase household well-being, translates into higher well-being for women and the potential to impact change. From that, this study aims to highlight and propose a model based on the role of social capital namely trust, norms and networking which will give impact toward business success among women entrepreneurs.
