Saline tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus, L) is potential to be cultured due to its high content of nutrition. This study aims to determine the optimal dosage of Caulerpa lentillifera meal in feed for growth and survival rate of saline tilapia. This research was conducted on August to September, 2018 at Brackish Water Aquaculture Development Center, Aceh, Indonesia. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments of meal dosage and 4 replications, namely; A = 0 g, B = 10 g, C = 20 g, D = 30 g, and E = 40 g Caulerpa lentillifera meal Kg−1 feed. The observed parameters included absolute weight gain, absolute length growth, daily growth rate, feed effeciency and survival rate. The results showed that the addition of Caulerpa lentillifera meal in feed significantly (p <0.05)affected the growth and survival rate of saline tilapia. The optimal dosage of meal was 20 g Caulerpa lentillifera meal Kg−1 feed a(treatment C).
Poropuntius tawarensis is an endemic fish belonging to the Cyprinidae family found in Laut Tawar Lake, Central Aceh, Indonesia. P. tawarensis has a limited distribution and the fertilization only occurs in the rainy season. The purpose of this research was to observe the effect of Oodev hormone with different doses on the maturity of P. tawarensis. This study was used completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replicates. Treatments used were the hormone doses of 0.25 mL/kg, 0.50 mL/kg and treatment without hormone (control). The parameters used in this study were gonadosomatic index (GSI), egg diameter, coefficients of variation (CV) of egg diameter, fecundity, and hepatosomatic index. The study revealed the highest value found in a dose of 0.50 mL/kg which the value of egg diameter was 0.8791±0.02 mm, coefficients of variation of egg was 6.46±0.49% and fecundity was 869±33.99 egg/kg. While the highest gonadosomatic index was found in a dose of 0.25 ml/kg (10.41±2.03%). Moreover, the induction of Oocyte developer (Oodev) hormone on the maturity of P. tawarensis did not significantly affect the hepatosomatic index (HSI), but Oodev hormone was efficient to accelerate the gonad maturity of fish.
Spawning of pedih fish (Tor douronensis) is seasonal that occur twice a year. This causes limitation of mature broodstock. Therefore, the study was done to examine the effect of PMSG + antidopamin hormone in accelerating gonadal maturity female broodstock of pedih fish (Tor douronensis) at different concentration. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method, using 12 test fish with 4 treatments, namely treatment A (0 mL/kg fish), B (0.5 mL/kg fish), C (1 mL/kg fish), D (1.5 mL/kg fish). The ANOVA test results showed that induction of gonadal maturation in pedih fish (Tor douronensis) using different concentration of PMSG + AD had a significant effect on broodstock weight gain (W), egg diameter (mm) and relative egg diameter (%/day) (P <0.05). The study indicated that the treatment C (1 mL/kg of fish) produced the highest value on the broodstock weight gain (0.17 kg), egg diameter (1.68 mm), relative egg diameter (8,03%/day).
Kuala Gigieng is one of the estuary areas in Aceh Besar Regency. This research is about the analysis of chlorophyll-a and trophic status of Kuala Gigieng waters in the context of sustainable fisheries management. This research was conducted in April 2019 in the water of Kuala Gigieng. This study aims to determine the trophic status of the waters, the value of chlorophyll-a and the abundance of phytoplankton in the Kuala Gigieng waters. Determination of observation stations using random stratified sampling method. Analysis of chlorophyll-a using the Trichomatic method. Analysis of the trophic status of the waters with the Trix method. The results showed that the waters of Kuala Gigieng were categorized as high fertility (eutrophic). The value of chlorophyll-a ranged from 0.21 u.g/l - 5.56 ug/l, and the value of net primary productivity (NPP) ranged from 3.47-27.77 mgC/m3/hour and the value of gross primary productivity (GPP) ranged from 5.20-32.98 mgC/m3/hour. Meanwhile, the abundance of plankton ranged from 133.33-207.40 ind/l. Water quality parameters are still suitable for the growth of plankton in Kuala Gigieng waters.
