Thailand is the largest durian producer and exporter in the world market. In addition, durian is the most important fruit crop in Thailand because it can generate a higher income from exports with a value of approximately 45,349-million-baht, equivalent to an export quantity of 653,564 tons in 2019. The objective is to analyze the factors affecting the durian production of farmers in the eastern region of Thailand, namely Chanthaburi, Rayong, and Trad Provinces. The sample of 395 durian farmers underwent observation using simple random sampling via the questionnaire approach. The statistics consisted of mean, percentage, and multiple regression. The findings revealed that the positive factors affecting the durian production of farmers in the eastern region of Thailand are the experience of the farmers in growing durian, the size of the workforce, the planted area of durian, the number of durian trees, and the number of durian trees per planted area, while the negative factors affecting the durian production of farmers in the eastern region of Thailand are the age of the farmers and the cultivation of organic durian. The results will be beneficial to farmers, government, and related stakeholders, who can further apply these findings to enhance the efficiency of durian production to be the quality durian for domestic and foreign consumers

The purpose of this study is to forecast the import demand of table grapes of Thailand using monthly time series from January 2007 to April 2020. The ADF unit root test is used for stationarity checking, and seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (SARIMA) is applied to forecast the import demand of table grapes. The results revealed that the integration of time series was in the first difference for non-seasonal and seasonal order. The best-fitted forecasting model was SARIMA(1,1,3)(2,1,0)12. The forecasted period for the next eight months showed the import demand of table grapes of Thailand that is slightly decreased by an average of 11.398 percent, with overall expected to decrease by an average of 15.218 percent in 2020.

The most important raw materials for bio-ethanol in Thailand are cassava, sugar cane and molasses. However, cassava has been promoted as a feed stock for ethanol due to the minimal inputs for planting, high productivity and all-year planting and harvesting. The most important factor influencing ethanol using cassava production is the price of cassava feedstock. Contract farming could decrease production costs, increase efficiency in markets, provide lower interest rates, decrease risk management and create symmetric information for cassava smallholders. The scope of this study includes cassava cultivation and factors influencing contract participation using logit analysis. Results from a survey consisting of 130 non-contractors and 127 contractors showed there was a verbal communication between farmers and agricultural cooperatives and written contractual agreement between agricultural cooperatives and processors. In addition, contract participation is significantly influenced by gender of household head, education of household members, number of agricultural groups, input costs, machinery costs, incomes and credit access.

The essential oil (EO) derived from whole plants of the rice paddy herb collected in Thailand's central area has been studied for antimicrobial activity against phytopathogenic bacteria (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae and X. oryzae pv. oryzicola) and phytopathogenic fungi (Alternaria porri, Bipolaris oryzae, Collectotrichum gloeosporioides, Fusarium oxysporum, Phytophtophthora parasitica, and Rhizoctonia solani), and the chemical compositions. The EO contained 1-limonene (47.3%), linalool (18.5%), and (+)-trans—Mentha-2,8-diene (9.2%) as the most abundant constituents. The essential oil displayed completely antifungal activity using a percentage of mycelial growth inhibition on R. solani and B. oryzae, following potent activity on A. porri and F. oxysporum. In the case of antibacterial activity using an agar diffusion assay, the oil revealed potent activity against both bacteria tested. The 1-limonene was also evaluated against all phytopathogens, and the compound revealed better effective activity on bacteria than fungi. The results concluded that the oil could be used to develop alternative green agrochemical agents.

Plant oils derived from medicinal herbs have furnished bioactive synergistics, as well as antibacterial and antifungal properties. The study was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of essential oils (EOs) against Cutibacterium acnes and to analyze the chemical compositions of the effective oils. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design with duplications. Three EOs obtained from Allium sativum (garlic), Gardenia jasminoides (gardenia), and Hedychium coronarium (hydechium) cultivated in Thailand were tested for antibacterial activity using an agar well diffusion assay and the macro-dilution method. The chemical compositions of the selected oil were determined by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS). To compare the data, Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) was performed, and significance was determined at the p < 0.05 level. The results showed that garlic oil had the highest potent inhibitory zone on C. acnes, according to the findings. As a bactericidal, garlic oil had MIC and MBC values of 0.39 and 0.78 mg/mL, and even a MIC index (MBC/MIC) of 4. Diallyl thiosulfinate (allicin) (20.53%), 1,3-dithiane (12.53%), cyclic octaatomic sulfur (5.02%), 1,4-dihydro-2,3-benzoxathiin-3-oxide (4.73%), and carvone (3.40%) were the major components of garlic oil. The results suggest that garlic oil might be used to develop topical anti-acne treatments.
