Conversational logic and psychoanalytic technique. The study at hand aims to examine language as an essential and constitutive part of the Psychoanalytic Method technique, making use of the pragmatic frame of ordinary language philosophy. Having considered the theory on Logic and Conversation by H. P. Grice as its starting point, this study analyses the general traits of analytical speech, as Freud originally suggested, as compared to the general traits of ordinary conversation. It also demonstrates how free association, combined with (evenly) suspended attention, gives rise to a particular principle of conversational cooperation, as well as distinct precepts, which govern analytical speech
