O ensino musical vem ganhando espaço na cidade de Feira de Santana. Alguns fatores como o surgimento de cursos de Licenciatura em Música, inclusive o existente na Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana e o consequente aumento de professores de música licenciados, contribuem positivamente para esse cenário.
É sabido que o ritmo é um elemento de grande importância para a música e segundo Martenot (1970, apud ZAGONEL, 1984) ele está presente tanto nos movimentos da criança, quanto nos movimentos do adulto, ao se manifestar de forma natural e espontânea, aflorando suas expressões internas demonstradas no momento em que eles o exteriorizam.
O artigo apresenta duas pesquisas que fomentam discussão do conteúdo de história e culturas indígenas na formação e atuação de professores de música no contexto escolar. Dentre os objetivos se destacam identificar de que forma a diversidade cultural foi contemplada na formação e nas práticas pedagógicas dos bolsistas do PIBID, e coletar e registrar cantos/toantes/linhas/toré de estudantes indígenas da universidade, pensando na produção de um material etnopedagógico. As investigações se apoiaram em autores (PENNA, 2014; DAMATTA, 1981; LARAIA, 2001; ROCHA, 1988; BORGES, 2010), leis e documentos contemplando essa temática. Metodologicamente, os dados foram coletados a partir de entrevistas e pesquisa das atividades desenvolvidas e da matriz curricular do curso de Licenciatura em Música da xxxx. Dos resultados alcançados, nota-se que o curso mostrou-se preocupado com a formação docente na perspectiva da diversidade cultural, estando presente tanto na formação como também na atuação inicial no PIBID. No entanto, ao considerarmos os conhecimentos e saberes relacionados a cultura ocidental europeia, a diversidade não foi abordada de forma equilibrada. Nesse sentido, a iniciativa de coletar e registrar materiais didáticos dessas culturas é uma forma de contribuir para a dissolução desse equilíbrio, ao servir como um instrumento para disseminar o conhecimento sobre culturas indígenas.
