515Revista da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical 41(5):515-517, set-out, 2008 O sucesso reprodutivo de mosquitos está intimamente relacionado à seleção do local de oviposição, fator crítico para a sobrevivência e dinâmica de populações que influencia a distribuição larval em campo e é resultante da interação de uma complexa rede de fatores químicos e físicos, envolvendo respostas visuais, táticas e olfatórias 2 .Em Aedes aegypti, vetor dos vírus da dengue e sério problema de saúde pública no mundo, o comportamento de oviposição de fêmeas grávidas sofre a influência de fatores como a umidade, luminosidade, substrato e propriedades da água 4 7 . Diferentes autores verificaram que substâncias químicas de origem larval ou dos ovos tornam o ambiente aquático co-específico mais estimulante à deposição dos ovos 1 12 . Mendki e cols 5 isolaram e identificaram em Aedes aegypti o semioquímico de origem larval heneicosane, estimulante na oviposição desta espécie. Outros fatores químicos presentes na água de criação que estimulam a oviposição de Aedes aegypti são substâncias de origem larval heteroespecífica 1 13 e, presença de bactéria 9 .Elucidar o comportamento de oviposição de fêmeas grávidas de Aedes aegypti é um componente básico necessário com ABSTRACTTo evaluate the influence of larval rearing water on Aedes aegypti oviposition, four types of water were provided for gravid females. It was observed that more eggs were laid in the mixed larval rearing water (2,837) than in the Aedes albopictus water (690) or control water (938), but that this number was similar to what was seen in the Aedes aegypti water (2,361).
