This article aims to reflect on various forms of violence against children and adolescents practiced in the family context, and the importance of professional nursing care in view of this phenomenon. We discuss possibilities of care and violence prevention as well as the problems violence causes to society. Violence is a social and historical problem, constructed in society, and needs to be adequately addressed in academic nursing education.
This is a review article that aims at re ecting the problem of domestic violence as a public health reality present in the professional context of nurses. It describes the violence in its various forms: physical, psychological, sexual and negligence. Characterizing the families whose children are submitted to violence as well as analyze the problem in the dynamic between members of the same family. It conclude presentation how a nurse can deal with cases where are evidences of abuse and his importance for the management and prevention of this problem.
O Objetivo é analisar o conhecimento de enfermeiros e médicos de duas maternidades da região sul do Brasil acercada depressão pós-parto. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, cuja amostra constituiu-se por 11 profissionais de saúde,incluindo médicos e enfermeiros de duas maternidades do sul do Brasil, em 2016. Constatou-se que os profissionais dasaúde percebem a importância de seu papel na identificação, prevenção e tratamento da depressão pós-parto. Porém,ainda existem dificuldades para reconhecê-la, uma vez que não existe nos hospitais instrumentos específicos implementados que possam ajuda-los na identificação, bem como a capacitação sobre o tema. Objective. To determine the importance of the family support group in the treatment of codependency, based in reports made by relatives of a therapeutic community for drug addicts. Methods. Study conducted in a therapeutic community for alcohol and other drug addicts in a city in the southern extreme of Brazil. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research with eight drug addict relatives. Data collection occurred through semi-structured interviews and the use of a field diary, focusing on the family orientation group as a space for the health promotion of family members of psychoactive substance users. Results. Through discursive analysis, it was found that the family orientation group constitutes an important tool of educational character, capable of responding to the family demands of chemical dependence, as well as rethinking and modifying attitudes and characteristic behaviors of co-dependence. Conclusion.The support group is fundamental as a care strategy for codependent families, and may act more effectively when professionals are trained to intervene in the phenomenon of codependency.Descriptors: family; substance-related disorders; codependency (psychology); therapeutic community; family therapy; communication; qualitative research. Introduction: Domestic violence is a social and public health problem and its rates are currently increasing. It is present in all social classes, ethnicities and educational levels. Objective: To analyse the actions done by health professionals who work in Basic Health Units (BHUs) to recognise cases of psychological violence against children. Methods: This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study. It used an analysis of the thematic data content. Interviews were conducted with 24 professionals working in BHUs in a city in southern Brazil. Results: It was observed that physical symptoms are prioritised and there is an underestimation of mental health issues, especially those relating to psychological violence. Conclusions: It was identifi ed that professionals from the BHUs cannot intervene effectively because of the diffi culty in identifying cases of domestic violence and their lack of training for dealing with cases of violence against children.
Protection of children and adolescents victims of violence: the views of the professionals of a specialized service Objective. To know the obstacles faced by the professionals to work in network and challenges of the work of the professionals in the Reference Center Specialized in Social Assistance (CREAS) of a municipality in the extreme south of Brazil. Methods. It is a qualitative study, developed with twelve professionals of a CREAS. Data collection was performed through a semi-structured interview, from April to May 2016. The interviews were submitted to content analysis. Results. The fragmentation among the various services that make up the victim assistance network is an obstacle for professionals as they are unable to continue the recovery and health promotion actions of these families. The professionals point out the bureaucratic procedures, the accumulation of functions and the lack of human and financial resources as a routine problem and that seriously hinders the progress of the service.
