Desde mediados de la década de los noventa del siglo pasado, los temas que dominaron los debates internacionales acerca de la educación superior, expresados en documentos, estudios y deliberaciones de organismos globales dedicados al tema, fueron los relacionados con la evaluación y tópicos conexos como la calidad, la responsabilidad, la pertinencia y la presentación de cuentas a la sociedad de esas instituciones. Otro gran eje fue, por supuesto, la accesibilidad, la equidad y el dilema planteado entre la tendencia a la privatización y la opción de la universidad pública, que muchos investigadores señalaban como un tópico que debía encender las alarmas de una concepción democrática.
A nivel de la Educación Superior, en particular, en las universidades, se propone un cambio de paradigma de la enseñanza basada en el conocimiento hacia el aprendizaje de competencias. En este nuevo contexto, el profesor se convierte en el impulsor del aprendizaje de las competencias y actitudes que los estudiantes deben adquirir y deja de ser un simple transmisor de conocimiento. Esta obra recoge una síntesis del profundo e intenso debate que transcurre alrededor del proceso formativo a nivel de la educación superior, con particular énfasis en el docente universitario, donde, no sólo ha de poseer competencias tecnológicas, sino también pedagógicas. Este libro está estructurado en capítulo, donde se recoge los planteamientos, revisiones y análisis de investigaciones resientes y contemporáneas sobre los temas de las competencias pedagógicas y digitales necesarias del docente universitario en la actual sociedad del conocimiento.
La cultura se mantiene viva cuando el grupo humano deja de verla como algo inmutable y la entiende como un activo que construye realidades desde la herencia. La artesanía no es ajena a la evolución tecnológica, siendo influida desde diversas vertientes, entre ellas la ideológica. Surge entonces el fenómeno de la neoartesanía (Ferro, 2017) como una corriente que fusiona las técnicas tradicionales de la producción manual con la metodología del diseño industrial. Es una respuesta sensible desde la cultura hacia lo socio tecnológico donde los biomateriales (Donoso & Wechsler, 2020) motivan a pensar creativamente en escenarios diferentes para el diseño con una mirada holística, regenerativa y sustentable. Desde la tesis doctoral de Mariana Araujo Laranjeira, que aborda el diseño de superficies aplicando materiales sostenibles, ponemos en discusión las implicancias que los biomateriales podrían tener sobre la neoartesanía como área de interés del Diseño y también como una provocación creativa.
