Kota Wisata Batu telah terkenal di tingkat nasional dan internasional. Berbagai tempat wisata ada di sana dengan berbagai fasilitas pendukung seperti hotel, kehidupan malam, dan lainnya. Situasi ini, dapat dipahami sebagai konsekuensi dari predikat Batu sebagai kota wisata. Namun, masyarakat Kota Batu juga merupakan masyarakat yang religius yang kuat dengan nilai-nilai kehidupan beragama dan norma-norma tata kelola sosial. Masyarakat harus mengalami gejolak yang datang mewarnai kehidupan sosial keagamaan mereka. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan sejauh mana hal-hal ini telah diproses oleh masyarakat dan lembaga-lembaga penanggungjawab terkait. Dengan menggunakan metode etnografis kualitatif, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lembaga seperti Perhimpunan Hotel dan Restoran Indonesia (PHRI), Dinas Pariwisata, Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB), Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), dan lembaga keagamaan lainnya telah menerapkan prinsip moral dalam proses pariwisata di Kota Batu. Namun, dampak kehidupan glamour di dunia modern rupanya telah menjadi pengalaman pariwisata yang tidak terelakkan di luar kendali dan kerja keras mereka dan itu akan terus menjadi bagian perjuangan mereka dalam menghidupi pariwisata di Kota Batu.
AbstrakKampanye politik menawarkan banyak kemungkinan untuk menampilkan imaji atas pribadi seseorang. Penyampaian pesan kepada publik secara tersurat maupun simbolis dapat berlangsung pada saat yang bersamaan sehingga menghasilkan wacana-wacana politik yang saling tumpang tindih. Partai-partai politik yang besar menyelenggarakan parade keliling kota yang gaduh dan mencolok sedangkan partaipartai kecil melakukannya dengan lebih sepi, bahkan terkadang mereka tidak melakukan pengumpulan massa. Besarnya jumlah peserta pawai menunjukkan besarnya sebuah partai selain memperlihatkan kemampuan finansial dari partai dan politisi yang menyelenggarakan kegiatan itu. Namun demikian, kampanye yang sama-sama masif mereka lakukan di media massa dan di media sosial. Kampanye melalui Twitter dan Facebook menjadi strategi baru dalam menarik dukungan masyarakat meskipun dalam kenyataannya kampanye politik melalui media sosial ini begitu liar karena akun Twitter dan Facebook partai politik dan para politisi bercampur dengan milik masyarakat kebanyakan. Bebasnya penggunaan kedua media sosial ini memberikan kebebasan pula dalam menampilkan sisi positif dan sisi negatif seorang politisi dan sejumlah cara penampilan itu menjadikan pemilihan umum 2014 memendam banyak kontroversi yang hingga beberapa tahun kemudian masih menjadi bahan perbincangan di dunia maya maupun di dunia nyata. AbstractThe political campaign has so many possibilities to generate an impressive personal image of a politician. The way to communicate a message to the public can be driven directly or using some symbolics peculiarity in a time so that it stimulate some overlying political discourses. The powerful political partis will animate some massif and noisy mass parades in downtown in many different places while the small ones will do it in a calme and small procession and in some cases the do not even organise a single mass parade. The number of people in these carnivals shows the potential power of the partis in the field and in the financial support from the partis and their politicians. In actual tendance the partis politics do the same massif campaign in Medias and social Medias. The mass campaign on facebook and twitter become new approaches in the way to attract the attention of the people even if the campaign in theses socials Medias turn out to be free and wild because the facebook and twitter official's accounts of the partis politics intermingle to those of the publics. The free of the use of those Medias gives a freedom to promote the positive and negative sides of a politician and the so many ways of presentations makes the general election of 2014 hide many controversies that for some years latter on still become a topic of debate in the real and virtual realm.
The development of Kampung Biru Arema (KBA) to become an educational tourist destination in urban areas is a necessity to support an increase in the community's economy. Development carried out independently has not shown optimal results so that it requires the intervention of various parties to support in realizing the aspirations of the community. The academic community of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences as part of its academic responsibilities takes part in developing the village in the form of community assistance. This community service program is intended to provide assistance to the KBA community to become an integrated educational tourist destination. After conducting a series of preliminary activities, an agreement was reached to develop five (5) tourist points to be further developed as the main sites for KBA tourism activities. The five points were named Tourism Areas: History, Dolanan, Disaster Mitigation, Arema, and Basa Walikan. The stakeholders involved in this program have shown seriousness in the effort to realize the ideal picture of the direction and form of the KBA and committed to carry out development as planned together in the next phase. For this reason, the community service team embodies the shared understanding in a tangible form in the form of visual designs, physical structure in the form of miniature areas developed in tourist areas. In addition, the team also constructed an area at the KBA tourist location as a model for the realization of the visual design.
The research aimed to examine the symbolic representation in the forms of pictures and writings on the tailgates. These images and writings have been observed and interpreted semiotically, for which is a science whose main domain is the interpretation of symbols. This research found that these images have some impacts on society, considering that the existence of the trucks that have various pictures and writings passes every day on the streets. The findings show that the freedom of expression in public space is guaranteed by law, especially in the terms of freedom of expression on the road. The truck drivers express this freedom on the vehicles they drive and paying attention to several restrictions, such as not posting pictures containing pornographic and provocative elements, not installing pictures on the right and left mirrors, and not posting pictures that can block the driver's view. The pictures and writings installed on the tailgate are a form of individual expression of the driver and the vehicle owner as well, as a technique to publicize their identity. It is important to show the identity to inform the public of their characteristics, economic activities, and position in society.
Indonesia has lots of culture especially in Java. Javanese people still uphold their culture, it can be seen from many ceremonies and rituals they do. There is one ceremony that still uphold until now that is Temu Manten. Temu Manten is a highlight from the Javanese tradition wedding which has meaning as the meeting of the bride and the groom. There are lots of symbols there that represent about the marriage life. The study relates to symbol is semiotic. Based on Barthes’s theory, semiotic consists of denotative, connotative, and myths. This study aims to analyze the semiotic meaning on the series of Temu Manten that occurs in Malang. This study used qualitative method and used Barthes’s theory to analyze the data. The source of the data is from the interviewing the informant and some books that related to Temu Manten. The data collected in May 11th, 2022 in Kepuharjo, Malang, East Java. The data collected by using these techniques, such as: 1) Observing and taking notes; 2) Interviewing the informant.; 3) Recording and taking note.; 4) Transcribing. The data was analyzed by using Roland Barthes’s theory about denotative, connotative and myth. The result showed that the groom and the bride must be nice family and helpful to others. Where the family will always support and guide them to face a harmonious home life. In facing domestic life, keep learning to process the feelings and intentions that have been given by God to be able to understand one another.
