Manufacturing industries generate much waste, which can be converted into raw materials for other allied industries. Plastic wastes can be recycled to enhance a circular economy, enabling sustainable development goals. Recently these recycled plastics can be used to manufacture the input filament necessary for additive manufacturing (AM). Polylactic acid (PLA) is one of the plastic materials used in AM Machines as raw materials. In this research work, the Mechanical properties of 3D printed products made with normal PLA are compared with the PLA material made from recycled plastics. The experimental data are analyzed with Taguchi Method and concluded that recycled PLA had enhanced properties to normal PLA.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
