Background: Family empowennent is an effort or process to foster family awareness, willingness and ability to recognize, overcome, maintain, protect, and improve their own welfare. Family empowerment in exclusive breastfeeding behavior is very necessary because exclusive breastfeeding is a world problem that affects infant morbidity and mortality. Objective: This study aims to analyze family empowerment with the CASE model on family roles and exclusive breastfeeding behavior.Method: Type of Quasy-experimental research by dividing two experimental groups namely the treatment group and the control group. Both groups are initiated with pre-test, and after the treatment is measured again (post-test). Statistical analysis uses multivariate analysis of covariance (Manacova) to test whether there are differences in treatment of a group of dependent variables after adjusting for the influence of confounding variables. Results: For the pre-test results: family empowerment on the role of the family obtained a significance value of0.229 and family empowerment of exclusive breastfeeding behavior obtained a significance value of 0. 710 so that greater than 0.05 means that there is no linear relationship offamily empowerment with family roles and exclusive breastfeeding behavior. For the results of the post-test: family empowennent on the role of the family obtained a significance value of0.000 and family empowennent of exclusive breastfeeding behavior obtaineda significance value of0.000 so smaller than 0.05 means that there is a linear relationshipoffamily empowerment with family roles and exclusive breastfeeding behaviour.
Conclusion:Family empowennent with the CASE model is a support for mothers to exclusively breastfeed that can be used as a way to motivate and support pregnant women to have the intention to breastfeed exclusively since pregnancy.
Schizophrenia is chronically and schizophrenia suffer has duration of disease long time so that the risk of remission and relapse and quality of life is not well. Breastfeeding is a natural process in which pregnant mothers will be breastfeeding to help their babies stay healthy. However, several factors can interfere with appropriate breastfeeding, such as family income, mothers’ knowledge about breastfeeding and supportive environment. This study aimed to identify the effect of health education on maternal behavior in breastfeeding techniques. The design of this study was one-group pre-post design. 122 postpartum mothers were chosen as samples in this study by simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using observation sheets, and then analyzed by using Wilcoxon signed rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant effect of health education on maternal behavior in breastfeeding techniques with a result of p value of 0.000. It is hoped that all postpartum mothers can follow breastfeeding techniques with a proper positioning, ensure proper latching on to the nipples, so breastfeeding can be a comfortable and pain-free experience both for mothers and the babies.
