Laboratories, SumitomoThe combination of plasma heating and the powder blowing decarburization method was applied to remove copper and tin, which are "tramp" elements in relation to recycling, from molten iron in a large scale experiment. Piasma heating was adopted as the local heating method and combined with a weak oxidizing powder blowing method under a commonlyused reduced pressure of about 0. The following change was madeduring the experiment to solve a problem which developed for determining most appropriate condition. From the same point of view, the melt weight was decreased from l.5 to l.Ot to make a freeboard longer and a bath shallower. Table 2 shows the dimensions of the three types of bath that were tested. The refractories were changed to achieve the different shapes. Thefreeboard length of (A) and (C) An example of the variation of [Si] combination of plasma heating and blowing with treatment time.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
