Quantum Dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is a rising innovation which seems to be a good competitor for the next generation of digital systems and widely utilized as a part of advanced frameworks. It is an appealing substitute to ordinary CMOS innovation because of diminutive size, faster speed, extremely scalable feature, ultralow power consumption and better switching frequency. The realization of quantum computation is not possible without reversible logic. Reversible logic has enlarged operations in quantum computation. Generally reversible computing is executed when system composes of reversible gates. It has numerous fields of use as applied science, quantum dot cellular automata as well as low power VLSI circuits, low power CMOS, digital signal processing, computer graphics. In this paper, the quantum implementation of primitive reversible gate has been presented. The proposed gates have been designed and simulated using QCADesigner.
Quantum dot cellular automaton (QCA) are dominant nanotechnology which has been used extensively in digital circuits and systems. It is a promising alternative to complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology with many enticing features such as high-speed, low power consumption and higher switching frequency than transistor based technology. The code converters are the basic unit for transformation of data to execute arithmetic processes. In this paper, QCA based 2-bit binary-togray; 3-bit binary-to-gray and 4-bit binary-to-gray code converter have been proposed. The proposed design reduces the number of cells, area and raises switching speed. The simulations are completed using QCADesigner and Microwindlite tool which is widely used for simulation and verification.
Abstract—Quantum Dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is an eminent nano-technology and solution of Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) for it’s computation and transformation procedure. It is attractive for it’s size, faster speed, high scalable feature, low power consumption and higher switching frequency compared to CMOS technology. Reversible logic has many factual operation in QCA as well as VLSI design, nanotechnology, digital signal processing (DSP). This paper presents a systematic design of reversible gate based on QCA. A modified pattern of Fredkin gate, MCL gate and a new scheme of URG gate, BJN gate is proposed in this paper. For design and verification QCADesigner, a widely used simulation tool is employed. The proposed circuits can be used in erecting of nano scale low power information processing system and modelingcomplex computing systems.
The idea of passive biosensing through inductive coupling between antennas has been of recent interest. Passive sensing systems have the advantages of flexibility, wearability, and unobtrusiveness. However, it is difficult to build such systems having good transmission performance. Moreover, their near-field coupling makes them sensitive to misalignment and movements. In this work, to enhance transmission between two antennas, we investigate the effect of superstrates and metamaterials and propose the idea of dielectric fill in between the antenna and the superstrate. Preliminary studies show that the proposed method can increase transmission between a pair of antennas significantly. Specifically, transmission increase of ≈5 dB in free space and ≈8 dB in lossy media have been observed. Next, an analysis on a representative passive neurosensing system with realistic biological tissues shows very low transmission loss, as well as considerably better performance than the state-of-the-art systems. Apart from transmission enhancement, the proposed technique can significantly mitigate performance degradation due to misalignment of the external antenna, which is confirmed through suitable sensitivity analysis. Overall, the proposed idea can have fascinating prospects in the field of biopotential sensing for different biomedical applications.
