Ocean-moored buoys play an important role in global ocean environment monitoring. Motivated by building a sustainable ocean buoy observational network, a spatial optimization approach is proposed to site buoy stations to maximize spatial monitoring efficiency (SME). To achieve this goal, a nonlinear, continuous maximum coverage location model named CMCP-Ocean was established, associated with a measurement method of the SME. Meanwhile, a heuristic framework based on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was built to solve the CMCP-Ocean model, and optimization strategies including the multi-core parallel computing strategy, the particle velocity updating strategy based on spatial matching, and two potential station selection strategies related to the centroid-based random radiation method (CRRM) and random grid division method (RGDM) were established to improve computing performance. The effectiveness and efficiency of the PSO-based algorithm and the CMCP-Ocean model were verified by a series of experiments; the proposed computing schema named PSO-for-CMCP-Ocean has also proven to be practical and efficient. Finally, the PSO-for-CMCP-Ocean was applied to the buoy station selection of water mass monitoring in the Laizhou Bay of China, and a multi-scale sustainable site planning solution is reported.
Rodents are the most common models in studies of alcoholic liver disease (ALD). Although several rodents ALD models have been established and multiple mechanisms have been elucidated based on them, these models have some non-negligible shortcomings, specifically only inducing early stage (mainly steatosis, slight to moderate steatohepatitis) but not the whole spectrum of human ALD. The resistance of rodents to advanced ALD has been suggested to be due to the physiological differences between rodents and human beings. Previous studies have reported significant interstrain differences in the susceptibility to ethanol-induced liver injury and in the manifestation of ALD (such as different alteration of lipid profiles). Therefore, it would be interesting to characterize the manifestation of ethanol-induced liver damage in various rodents, which may provide a recommendation to investigators of ALD. Furthermore, more severe ALD models need to be established for the study of serious ALD forms, which may be achieved by using genetic modified rodents.
Objective BAG3-related myopathy is a rare condition so far reported in twenty patients worldwide. The purpose of this study was to draw attention to this rare disease and to the fact that BAG3-related myopathy should be considered as a rare differential diagnosis of hypercapnia.
MethodsWe report a sporadic case of a 14-year-old Chinese girl with a de novo p.Pro209Leu mutation in BAG3 and reviewed the literatures for reported cases related to this mutation.
ResultsWe described a 14-year-old Chinese girl who presented with gradually appearing symptoms of hypercapnia that required assisted ventilation. The muscle biopsy and the blood whole-exome sequencing results confirmed the diagnosis of myofibrillar myopathy with a de novo p.Pro209Leu mutation in BAG3. Totally twenty-one patients from twenty families with a confirmed diagnosis of BAG3-related myopathy were reported to date, including this patient and literature review. The male to female ratio was 11:10 and most showed initial symptoms in the first decade of life. Most patients presented toe/clumsy walking or running as the onset symptom, followed by muscle weakness or atrophy. Creatine kinase levels were
Abstract. The combination of trunnion type numerical control rotary table and three-axis machine tools can achieve the work of five-axis machine center. The key part of trunnion-type numerical control rotary table, trunnion, was studied by statics analysis, modal analysis and harmonic response analysis. The maximum deformation, vibration performance and other parameters, which may do harm to the accuracy, were investigated. Meanwhile, the dynamics and kinematics analyses of rotary table virtual prototype were conducted. The results of simulation and analyses provide theoretical basis and important references for the optimization design and manufacturing.
