The current rate of technological innovation makes it easier to convey data from one person to another. As technology progresses, it becomes easier for everyone to access social media, to the point where some news organisations seek to exploit it as a news source. Meanwhile, in order to avoid public panic, it is critical to educate society at a young age about the impact of fake news on social media. The purpose of this study is to explain the purpose of social media usage and to investigate whether the use of social media platforms to disseminate information has increased the spread of fake news in Malaysia, as well as the effect of information disseminated among university students during the COVID pandemic. Social media is well-known for its ease of use, particularly among young people, in sharing and expressing their opinions on domestic and international topics. Using social media has become second nature to us, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of the strength of social media, the public's opinion of finding information during a lockdown is quite positive. The study was carried out in a qualitative manner. The researcher gathered all of the data by asking the participants general research questions. The method employed to obtain the results was an in-depth interview. The findings revealed that information disseminated via social media was successful in raising awareness during the pandemic, particularly among university students. According to the findings, certain scientific and technical advancements should benefit the global community rather than be manipulated in order to obtain accurate and true knowledge; society must be astute. False knowledge would have negative repercussions, and society would inevitably exist in a state of deception. Obtaining reliable information during the COVID-19 pandemic is critical to ensuring that individuals become social media literate in the future. For this study we have adopted a comparative approach to better understand Perceived Effect of Social Media Marketing on Malaysian Film Audience including its successes in regards to popular social tactics and campaigns as well as where it may fall short within the realm of marketing as a whole and to explore the differences marketing strategies. The study also found the benefits and challenges using the strategies and takes a look into how social media can best be used and implemented to create for a successful marketing campaign for the theatrical release of a film in Hollywood to implied on film industry in Malaysia. This study uses Qualitative method which utilizes the Focus-Group interview, throughout this study, netizen's comments and discussions on social media are analysed to also determine how the social media marketing may influence the audience
Domestic violence is a pressing and serious issue that affects many individuals, especially women and children. However, some media has the tendency to report domestic violence cases in a sensationalised manner despite having a crucial responsibility of delivering news objectively. Using non-probability sampling, 30 online articles from Malay Mail and 30 online articles from Free Malaysia Today that is related to domestic violence were analysed using qualitative content analysis. This paper discovered four prominent themes that reveals the element of sensationalism such as headlines, emphasising on abusive actions, causes of domestic violence, and victim blaming. The study found that Free Malaysia Today reporting on domestic violence emphasises sensationalism more prominently compared to the Malay Mail. Future studies could expand the duration of the study of sensationalism and include a comparison of other online news media portals.
City image is a comprehensive evaluation and understanding of a city's internal comprehensive strength, surface development vitality and future development prospects by the communication public. With the development of new media technology and changes in the communication environment, the government's new media has entered the era of short videos, which have become an important medium for spreading the city image. This article studies the city image communication strategy of the government's Douyin account "Hefei Traffic Police" through questionnaire surveys and other research methods. Based on the survey results, the article summarises the city image communication strategy of the government Douyin account "Hefei Traffic Police" from three aspects: form, content, and audience. It analyses the acceptability of its communication effect. Based on the problems, it proposes that the government Douyin account "Hefei Traffic Police" must pay attention to the deep work of content, meet the needs of the audience, innovate communication methods, and promote positive ideas.
Most knowledge, entertainment, and education can now be accessed very conveniently via webs, blogs, and social media in this exponential age. On the other hand, television plays an essential role in most people's lives. This study aims to learn about children's acceptance of children's television shows in Malaysia. In the report, 30 children aged four to six years old were interviewed and examined. Interviews were performed in English and Malay, depending on the children's preferred language of expression: some were bilingual, while others spoke only Malay. During the observation period, the researchers observed and reported what the children said and did while watching. In terms of cognition, this research suggests that children have optimistically specific basic literacy skills. Affectively, the children can express their emotions by sufficient or reasonable emotional responses, and they can interact with the character's customs, etiquette, and cultural heritage to a limited extent. Children implicitly perceive sex-role stereotyping on a behavioral level. This research demonstrates that children comprehend basic literacy skills cognitively. Affectively, the children communicate their emotions through acceptable or sufficient emotional responses and can associate with traditions, etiquette, and cultural heritage to a limited extent. Children intuitively recognize sex-role stereotyping on a behavioral level. The results of the final review showed that television did not affect. The final study results showed that television did not significantly impact children's perceptions; instead, daily experience and context affected their awareness and understanding.
