The Covid-19 epidemic that occurred in 2019 prevented education from continuing face to face. Various searches were conducted as part of this procedure that can be used effectively in online education. As a result, the GeoHepta mobile application was created to help students study the 7th grade mathematics course subjects using the ADDIE design methodology. Activities using dynamic mathematics software that students may use interactively were created as part of the content of the built mobile application. Students were also given the opportunity to complete online evaluation using Web 2.0 tools after learning the lesson's topics. The research was performed by 7th-grade students in a secondary school in the Central Anatolia Region in the second term of the 2020-2021 academic year, utilizing a mobile application in the distance education process. A quasi-experimental design was used to conduct the study. The “Mobile Application Usability Scale” was involved in the analysis to assess the usability of the mobile application after the experimental group had been educated. As a result of the research, it was established that the GeoHepta mobile application is "usable" by the students, and their attitudes about the mobile application are good. Participants' opinions on the mobile application's style, colour, control, typeface and hierarchy are also "useful". The "control" function of the mobile application received the greatest score, while the "aesthetic" aspect of the mobile application received the lowest grade.
The purpose of this study is to ascertain how students' self-efficacy, belief perceptions, and attitudes toward technology have changed as a result of mobile application-based instruction during the distance education era. Pre-test, post-test controls were used in the study's quasi-experimental research design. Students in the seventh grade from a public secondary school in Central Anatolia participated in the study. In the study, the students were given the Self-Efficacy Scale for Geometry, the Belief Scale for Geometry, and the Attitude Scale for Technology. T-tests for independent samples and t-tests for dependent samples were used to assess data from measuring tools. The study's findings revealed a substantial difference between the experimental and control groups' students' attitudes toward technology, ideas about geometry, and self-efficacy in those areas. The usage of various mobile applications in mathematics instruction has been recommended in light of the results found.
In order to ensure active participation of students in the lessons during distance education period, different learning tools were sought. For this purpose, within framework of the ADDIE design model, it was desired to develop a mobile application called GeoHepta to be used in learning the 7th grade mathematics course Geometry and Measurement learning field subjects. The study was carried out in the distance education process with 7th grade students in the 2020-2021 academic year. The research was carried out with a quasi-experimental design. In the study, "Geometry and Measurement Learning Field Achievement Test" was used. As a result of the research, a significant difference was reached between the post-test scores of the students in the experimental group, in which the mobile application-supported teaching was implemented, and the control group students, in which the textbook-based teaching was implemented. While there was a significant difference between the pre-test post-test scores of the experimental group students, there was no significant difference between the pre-test post-test scores of the control group students.
