Environmental Impact Assessment plays a crucial role in environmental land use planning and has been known as the most effective approach to identifies proposed impacts of the projects and followed that proposing mitigation measures. Mathematical matrix is one of the environmental impact assessment methods that has been used extensively since it provides incorporate impact compensation factors, expert discussion, and provide more objective and practical feedback. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the environmental impacts of the Bistoon thermal power plant located in the west of Iran using the matrix method and proposing mitigation measures for minimizing the adverse effects. First, the activities of the project were identified. Then, environmental components, including physical environment, biological environment, socio-economic environment, were analyzed using maps and field checks. The impacts of the project activities were predicted on the environment and quantified using the mathematical matrix method. The results illustrated that the importance of effects is in a medium and low range; therefore, the status of the project is not very serious and can be verified by implementing a series of remedial actions and environmental improvement plans.
The aim of this research is to study the effects of creep in High Strength Concrete HSC. Creep known as a deformation of the structure under a sustained load and is one of the major deformations that concrete face. Moreover, the study explains how creep is predicted in HSC using various methods established by different codes and researchers. The research method consists of an extensive review of all relevant literature on creep and high strength concrete. The main issue is a comparison of observed creep distortions with seven present prediction prototypes to define which of the models most precisely predict creep while using two methods of curing, accelerated curing and standard curing. The findings from the research displays that "ACI 209 Modified" code is the most precise model of predicting creep in accelerated cure applications and the AASHTO-LRFD is considered the best model for the prediction of creep. The main conclusion to be drawn from this study is that the accelerated curing technique for high strength concrete causes a higher change in time-dependent strains than standard curing. The research method consists of an extensive review of all relevant literature on creep and high strength concrete.
The safety management system is recognized by safety leading and lagging indicators, and their correlation with injury rates. The background on this specific subject is vague in definition, labelling, and indicators measurement. The comparativeness between leading and lagging indicators have been introduced in the constructing safety performance projects evaluation. Safety performance leading indicators are the metrics of the safety method in constructing work. While the lagging indicators associated with safety results. Many suggestions have been considered during the usage and selection of the effective leading indicators. Also, the research results outlined that the leading indicators can be used to discriminate the variances in the safety performance of projects. In this specified research, leading and lagging indicators have been reviewed and investigated. Eighteen papers have been investigated from the period of 2010 to 2019 in order to recognize the common leading and lagging indicators. In addition, this review will recognize the gaps in leading and lagging research in order to concentrate on extra studies in that field. Four papers mentioned the correlation between lagging and leading indicators. A scoping review is focusing on the points and the significant ideas associated with the research area in accordance with the history time.
Discovering the quality of the environment is essential because it directly affects health status and plays a significant role in the quality of life and public health. This research aimed to evaluate the environmental quality affecting by human-made sources in Duhok province using GIS. Based on the human-made sources affecting the quality of the environment, including population density, solid waste generation, and industrial density, the state of the environment was evaluated in the study area. The overall result indicated that about 85% of the study area has a moderate to high-quality state, while low and very low contributed to 13% and 1%, respectively. The integrated analysis of the environmental quality in Duhok province would increase the protection of the ecological environment and help the regional sustainable development and improvement of the built environment.
The development in globalization helped a lot of countries to consider China as a noticeably improved state in its technical, substructure, industrial, and producing possessions with facilities. Despite these signs of progress, there is an area of investigation for undertaking a rough spreading of revenue that has produced dogmatic and socio-economic difficulties in the republic. The aim of research to determine the character of managing the human resources aptitude in carrying growth and creativity competencies in standing the market. This study concentrated on the qualitative analysis of researches concentrated on planned and humanoid reserve management. An investigation assessment discovered that these human-related organizations are a vital obligation in shaping the business competences. Though, as the business retains increasing, the performance and progress of workers want to save up the covering up of the international marketplace. Open-handed some direction, training, and exercise consider as one of the good savings in developed the competencies. Client faithfulness is a decisive issue of the presentation of the corporation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
