JPDAF is a method of updating target's state estimation by using posterior probability that measurements are originated from existing target in multi-target tracking. In this paper, we propose a multi-target tracking algorithm for falling cluster bombs separated from a mother bomb based on JPDAS method which is obtained by applying fixed-interval smoothing technique to JPDAF. The performance of JPDAF and JPDAS multi-target tracking algorithm is compared by observing the average of the difference between targets' state estimations obtained from 100 independent executions of two algorithms and targets' true states. Based on this, results of simulations for a radar tracking problem that show proposed JPDAS has better tracking performance than JPDAF is presented.
We present a novel algorithm that can determine rotation-related parameters of a target using FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) radars, not utilizing inertia information of the target. More specifically, the proposed algorithm estimates the angular velocity vector of a target as a function of time, as well as the distances of scattering points in the wing tip from the rotation axis, just by analyzing Doppler spectrograms obtained from three or more radars. The obtained parameter values will be useful to classify targets such as hostile warheads or missiles for real-time operation, or to analyze the trajectory of targets under test for the instrumentation radar operation. The proposed algorithm is based on the convex optimization to obtain the rotation-related parameters. The performance of the proposed algorithm is assessed through Monte Carlo simulations. Estimation performance of the proposed algorithm depends on the target and radar geometry and improves as the number of iterations of the convex optimization steps increases.
This paper presents a method of independent pulse repetition frequency(PRF) generation and control for frequency phase calibration on mono-pulse radar at a remote location. In order to generate an independent PRF signal of 320[Hz], pulse width modulation(PWM) of 16-bit timer/counter was applied. For a precision control of PRF signal, 16-bit timer/counter interrupt was changed for each period. Therefore, average frequency of PRF could be controlled by 0.0001[Hz]. To calibrate a frequency phase of mono-pulse radar at a remote location, the proposed PRF generator with a precision control of frequency was used regardless of receiving PRF signal from a radar. For the verification of the proposed PRF generator, theoretical analysis and experimental results are included.
