ÖZETOkul Öncesi Öğretmenliği dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin Araştırma Projesi dersi (I ve II) hakkındaki görüş ve önerilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılan bu çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada öğrencilerin Araştırma Projesi ders sürecine, dersin paydaşlarına (kendisine, gruba, danışmana), ders sonunda tamamladıkları projeye (tez) ilişkin görüşleri ve derse ilişkin önerileri belirlenmiştir. Amaçlı örneklem stratejilerinden tipik durum örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen çalışma grubunu on öğrenci oluşturmaktadır.
Purpose: To protect the intangible cultural heritage by transferring it from generation to generation, it is imperative to effectively use games specific to our culture in children's education. The present study presents examples of the traditional games related to early childhood mathematical skills, including matching, comparing, grouping, sorting, creating patterns, numeracy, operation, geometric figures, spatial thinking, measurement, estimation and creating patterns. In addition, it is explained how the games can be adapted and played in different ways for a better achievement of these skills.Design/Methodology/Approach: This descriptive study uses a qualitative research method to examine mathematical skills in traditional children's games and provide examples of adaptations that support mathematical skills. In the study, traditional children's games were examined with document analysis and the data obtained were analyzed with descriptive analysis method.Findings: 11 examples of traditional games that can be associated with math skills in the pre-school education program are presented in the study. The way these games are played, their math skills and adapted versions are explained in detail. It was concluded that these games, which were discussed in the research, can be used by teachers and parents in teaching and reinforcing math skills in early childhood.Highlights: Teachers can adapt different math skills to children by adapting them according to the gains and indicators included in the program.
