The management of social work as a business culture: the experience of France. The analysis of the management system of social work as a business culture is performed in the aspect from help to support. The support is analogous to the individualization of social policy and the coordination of relations between people and institutions, which are the first to show their readiness to join society to take advantage of its solidarity. In this sense, social work is not «worked on others», it is «work with others». The main role of a social worker is to conduct a global diagnosis of human needs and implement a global project with it; the client is a subject of social intervention, initiator of decision-making, responsible person and author of his own «journey». It is emphasized that the task is to move from the model of expertise (medical model with separate roles of those who know and those who talk about their problem -professionals/«users») to the catalyst model: allows reaction, but removed after (decision making); such a shift in reality destabilizes the professional model of social workers. It is substantiated that working with others, in its individual and collective dimensions, involves abandoning a certain comfort zone: it is necessary to put yourself on a par with the «user» and take the necessary discomfort of this work position; however, this discomfort should not be recognized, otherwise there is a risk of prejudice and judgment in customers.
