Introducción El cáncer es una de las principales causas de enfermedad en el mundo. Los tumores de origen urológico tienen un alto impacto en la morbi-mortalidad de la población. El cáncer de pene constituye 1% de las neoplasias del aparato urinario. Las estrategias terapéuticas tradicionalmente estuvieron fundamentadas en mejorar la supervivencia, sin embargo, actualmente hay una tendencia en mejorar también el aspecto físico, emocional y social, entendiendo la enfermedad como un proceso que afecta lo físico y psíquico; por lo cual la calidad de vida se ha considerado como un importante indicador clínico, no solo del bienestar sino también de la progresión de la enfermedad y la eficacia del tratamiento. Método: Se realizó búsqueda en las bases de datos: MEDLINE® vía ovid; EMBASE; CENTRAL y LILACS Posteriormente se evalúan los artículos encontrados identificando criterios de elegibilidad, esta información fue confirmada y verificada por los investigadores. Resultados: La estrategia de búsqueda planteada identifico 12 artículos con cinco duplicados. Fueron evaluados siete artículos, sin embargo, ninguno cumplió con los criterios de inclusión. Conclusiones: En la revisión de literatura realizada no se encontró estudios que evaluaran o validaran escalas de calidad de vida en pacientes con cáncer de pene. Se sugiere generar estudios que validen escalas específicas para estos pacientes; dada la implicación psicológica que tiene éste tipo de cáncer para los hombres.
