Introducción El cáncer es una de las principales causas de enfermedad en el mundo. Los tumores de origen urológico tienen un alto impacto en la morbi-mortalidad de la población. El cáncer de pene constituye 1% de las neoplasias del aparato urinario. Las estrategias terapéuticas tradicionalmente estuvieron fundamentadas en mejorar la supervivencia, sin embargo, actualmente hay una tendencia en mejorar también el aspecto físico, emocional y social, entendiendo la enfermedad como un proceso que afecta lo físico y psíquico; por lo cual la calidad de vida se ha considerado como un importante indicador clínico, no solo del bienestar sino también de la progresión de la enfermedad y la eficacia del tratamiento. Método: Se realizó búsqueda en las bases de datos: MEDLINE® vía ovid; EMBASE; CENTRAL y LILACS Posteriormente se evalúan los artículos encontrados identificando criterios de elegibilidad, esta información fue confirmada y verificada por los investigadores. Resultados: La estrategia de búsqueda planteada identifico 12 artículos con cinco duplicados. Fueron evaluados siete artículos, sin embargo, ninguno cumplió con los criterios de inclusión. Conclusiones: En la revisión de literatura realizada no se encontró estudios que evaluaran o validaran escalas de calidad de vida en pacientes con cáncer de pene. Se sugiere generar estudios que validen escalas específicas para estos pacientes; dada la implicación psicológica que tiene éste tipo de cáncer para los hombres.
Objetivo: Describir las características clínicas/epidemiológicas y estrategia de priorización en pacientes adultos sometidos a cirugía electiva durante la pandemia por SARS- CoV2.
Métodos: Estudio observacional descriptivo, de 297 pacientes quirúrgicos en una clínica de alta complejidad de la ciudad de Cali-Colombia, del 27 abril al 5 agosto del 2020. Se establecieron cuatro fases en los pacientes: estratificación de riesgo, estrategia pre-quirúrgica, fase quirúrgica y seguimiento postquirúrgico.
Resultados: En la institución 9 de los 20 servicios quirúrgicos habilitados en la institución desarrollaron intervenciones quirúrgicas en el periodo de estudio. Se presentó un 21.9% de complicaciones de baja gravedad (tipo I y II) según clasificación de Clavien-Dindo. Se realizaron 189 procedimientos oncológicos (63%) y 108 no oncológicos (36%). La estratificación del riesgo según puntaje MeNTS fue predominantemente ≤50 (294 pacientes). El seguimiento postquirúrgico se realizó vía telefónica y presencial, solo un paciente presento síntomas sugestivos de infección por SARS-CoV2.
Conclusión: Durante el reinicio de las actividades quirúrgicas ambulatoria se establecieron protocolos estrictos con criterios para la selección de los pacientes con procedimiento quirúrgico y medidas para minimizar el riesgo de infección nosocomial del SARS-CoV2 en pacientes y personal del equipo de salud
